After installing new ATI HD4670 video card on my Gateway zx6810 I boot system hear no beeps computer powers on but screen is black

Hello

Is this new video card the only video source on the PC (i.e. there is no other VGA connections on the PC)?

Without knowing the make and model of the PC, I will list the most common issue when replacing the video card in a PC.

1. Connect the monitor to each available VGA connection and boot the computer - to see if any VGA output is working

2. When you find a working VGA output, go into BIOS and change the VIDEO settings to either allow BOTH the onboard and add in video OR allow the add in video only. Save the changes and turn the computer off.

3. Move the video cable to the add in video card, turn the computer on and see if the BIOS is using the new Video card

How do i get my asus model ul80j to switch from integrated graphics to nvidia

From my years of working with computers most of them only work with one video card at a time. If you have two video cards on the computer and if you have them both connected, a lot of computers get confused and can't handle that.

I've seen computers where there is a VGA Port (that normally comes with most computers) and the user goes out an purchases some heavy duty graphics video card and installs it. When they try use the VGA port, the computer refuses to switch to it as long as that other video card that they purchased is in the computer.

I've down countless of house calls to repair a computer where the purchased video card has gone bad and the customer thinks they are up the creek without a paddle until they get a new video card. Not so, I just remove the bad video card and plug into the vga video port that came with the computer.

Need abetter graphic card for acer aspire 5251

in Acer Aspire Series is using Intergrated Graphic Card.
that mean if you wanna Upgrade your Graphic Resolution,
you have to set to a bigger shared memory/RAM for Display Graphic Card/VGA memory from BIOS Setup.
for example if you using RAM 2Gb, and you can make your VGA(Video Graphic Adapter) to 1Gb.
But in My Computer Properties the RAM will Show only 1Gb.
Because another 1Gb of RAM you've use for VGA.
you can check it from dxdiag.
(for opening dxdiag > Click Start > click RUN... > type dxdiag > and Oke/Enter)

I want the definition VGA card

A "VGA Card" would more commonly be called a Video card or Graphics card. This is what sends the video to your computer monitor. VGA is the name of the type of plug that the card uses to plug into the monitor. Video cards use VGA, DVI and HDMI for higher quality Video cards.
Thanks for using FixYa.

A compaq sr1000 need to know what no VGA input means. Will no allow my computer to come on

Welcome to FixYa

No VGA input means that the computer is not detecting video input from the video card. Usually you get this message if the video card of your system is not functional, the VGA cable is unplugged or the VGA cable is defective. To try and remedy this problem try these.

Check if you can hear sound coming from the system. If the video card is functioning then you should here the startup audio from windows.

Check the VGA connection on the back of the system. The VGA cable looks like thismalups_6.jpg

Please note that the VGA cable has two screws, make sure that both are fastened correctly

If the VGA cable is plugged in and you cant hear audio coming from the system. Then this would likely be caused by a defective video card on your computer

Hope this helps

Vga driver

> VGA DRIVER

VGA ==> Video Graphics Adapter

DRIVER ==> device-driver software to allow Windows to use the device

So, what manufacturer of video-card?
What model of video-card?
What Operating System are you using? XP? Vista?
To find the correct device-driver software, the above 3 questions need to be answered.

Have you looked on the "support" web-site for the manufacturer of the hardware?

How i can connect the tv as my computer moniter

Does your TV have a "VGA" input? If so, then connect the VGA-output from your computer's video-card to that VGA-input.

Does your TV have a "DVI" input? If so, then connect the DVI-output from your computer's video-card to that DVI-input.

Does your TV have a "S-Video" input? If so, then connect the S-VIdeo-output from your computer's video-card to that S-Video-input.

Note that only _SOME_ video-cards have DVI output or S-Video output. Check your video-card.

Why won't my tv display my computer screen

Hi. The best way to hook your computers display to your LCD screen will be to use the VGA input socket. If your video card can support both S-video input and VGA, you can use either one but, the VGA is best for optimal resolution. This is the easy way to do this. Step one, connect the VGA cable to the computers video card and then, run the other end of this same cable to the VGA input slot on the LCD screen.Step 2, next you will make sure that the LCD's input selection is selected to show what is being transferred from the CPU video card by using the input button on the lcd remote control. The lcd(your tv) should be on VGA or PC input signal. Step 3, now, you Will have to also make sure that your video card is set to transfer this signal as well by pulling up your video cards software window and switch to the proper options. once this is done, you should get a signal. Be sure to use the VGA input/output ports on both the lcd television and your cpu for optimal transfer of the video stream. Here is a pic of your back panel. use the input port labeled I for good PC input quality.
