I have ipod nano 1st gen and my ipod wont detect by itunes even my explorer using USB 2.0, i have firewire port wall charger when i try to plug it it charge but idont know if it will work to computer cause...

There might be a few issues here:

1. Your ipod software needs to be updated
2. Your usb cord is bad
3. Your usb port is not working properly

Either find someone that has a firewire port and update it via itunes, or use someone elses computer to update your ipod's software.

2nd generation ipod nano with the "white screen of death"

Resync it to iTunes. You may need to reset it to defaults and then resync it, but resync usually works.

I get a white screen on my 30gb ipod and thats it.

Are you sure its a year old, those 30gigs are pretty old.. if its making a humming noise, than its about to crash, same as computers do. it may be hardware problems, i would backup everything as soon as possible.

I pod nano has white screen can't get it to do anything

It sounds as though your ipod either was dropped and the lcd is bad, or the ipod is just frozen in a weird state.
Press and Hold the Meny and Action buttons that is the top and center buttons, hold until your ipod reboots. see if the helps.
If not, do the step above and when you see the apple logo,
change to the play/pause and center button and try to get it into disk mode. this will allow you to mount it to iTunes and then do a Restore.

Ipod Nano

Hi,
Bad news. Your screen is bad and needs replaced. Good news there are a number of companies that will fix that beside Apple. Bad news. It will cost about $60 unless you can do it yourself. Hope that helps.
