Question about Philips 20DV6942 20 in. TV/DVD Combo

1 Answer

Have just purchased a Murphys "26" widescreen lcd tv with freeview and DVD combi. I mounted it on wall bracket then plugged it in and blew the fuse in plug. There was also smoke coming from top of TV. Tried everything different cables still nothing worked. Reported this to where I purchased it from and they sent out a replacement. I Mounted new TV and used power cable from my computer and TV worked fine. I took the original cable that came with the TV and replaced the fuse in it with a 3 amp which was the same as what was in it. When I replaced the cables and switched the TV on it blew again. I have since been given another replacement TV and cable but I am very unsure of what might be causing this problem to happen have you any idea?. The new cable sent has also a 3 amp fuse in it, which has blown twice already, where as the computer cable has a 13 amp fused and worked fine. Would it do any harm to place a 13 amp fuse in the cable rather than a 3 amp?

How do i get a replacement for my Emerson 26" LCD HDTV DVD/COMBO fell and dented from the stand. My warranty started in Jan. 03, 2014

Not sure whether you can get replacement under warranty if the TV fell off and was damaged. If it was wall mounted and the bracket broke or collapsed you could claim from the bracket supplier or the installer. But if it was on a stand sitting on a table and was knocked down then there is not much that can be done.
Best to call the place from where you purchased the TV and ask what they say.

My Technika TV/DVD Combi was playing a DVD but then made a noise like it was trying to skip tracks before going off. When I try to go back on to the DVD it says "no signal" and won't...

Hi.We can't help you here. Take it to a repairman. Inside you maybe able to check for a fuse but nothing else. If the cost is more than a new TV than you can decide for yourself. Good luck

No it is not worthy, you will spend around $100, but brand new combo 13'' cost $80 and DVD starts from $22. You can use an external one.

What type of Combo?

Does the TV turn on when u shob in a VHS tape?
Electricity is dangerioius ::
UNPLUG POWER CORD
open back, facing the back of TV, on your RIGHT, look to see if there is a fuse. BEFORE touching anything, take a screw driver, (anything metal) and place it inbetween metal BLADEs at end of AC cord. [of cause the AC plug is NOT pluged into the wall socket] ( this is to get any electircity still in the ckt. discharged!)
[Don't be offended!!] If u know how to use a ohms meter, test fuse or replace it with the exact value (Voltage & current)
Try that for now::
