Question about Singer CE-200 Quantum Futura Computerized Sewing Machine

1 Answer

I have a Singer Futura CE-100. I have had it for 3 years but have not used it much because I can't get the tension correct. I have had it repaired/maintained twice most recently this week. I can now sew on heavy denim and tension seems ok. If I switch to light material such as cotton for the quilt I am trying to complete, the tension is off. The bobbin thread loops tall on the top of the fabrice and skips and loops on the bottom. My alarm/red goes on all the time. I have changes thread, bobbins, needles and feet. What else can I do? These is a very expensive maching and I haven't been able to use the embroidery feature at all. I can't even sew a simple seam. Please help.

Sad to say you might have to do an indept check. Like start with a small peice of fabric - start with the highest bobbin tension and go to the lowest - leaving the top tension the same. Write all the findings. Then do it all again with the next top tension. Keep your 'good' findings in a little notepad in your sewing box. Then you will have it all ready for any other project. Good luck!

Bobbin won't wind on Singer futura CE-100

My singer hasn't wound bobbins for years and I don't care because I use a Side Winder bobbin winder. It's much easier than takining the thread off the machine anyway. Available from Hancock, Jo Ann or even Wal Mart for about $30.

My futura ce-100 keeps beebing and it lights up. it stops working and will not move on. how do i fix this.

Check the threading, especially in the clear plastic tension race at the top back of the machine. This is the part where the machine checks the thread is moving. If the thread breaks, or is not running correctly through that area, the machine thinks the thread is broken/run out and stops.

Singer CE-150 Futura Software and tension issue

I can't answer the tension question, but can answer the first. "Lie" to the computer by starting the software with the machine attached. Then simply unattach the machine and leave the software up. I do this all the time while working on designs or scrolling through items. It's a bit of a pain, but at least I'm not playing jump rope over the USB cable (though I guess I lose out on exercize that way ;).

I have a singer futura ce-250/ce-350 machine.

You need to do a tension test
Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman";} Tension assembly test. To do this test. Pull the thread through the tension assembly and test it to make sure the tension is working correctly.
(To do this test, adjust your tension setting to normal or medium or 5 or something in the middle. Raise the presser foot and pull the thread through the tension. It should pull easily!! Lower the presser foot and pull the thread. It should pull noticeably harder.)
If it doesn’t work this way then you probably have a piece of thread or lint stuck inside the tension discs. To remove it, turn the tension to 0 zero and raise the presser foot.Using a small screwdriver, open the space between the discs and spray with canned or compressed air. The stuff should come out. Do the tension test again to make sure you got everything and then try sewing again.
