The cubes that come out of most plastic trays are alot larger than the cubes harvested by the icemaker. these cubes can jam and cause the bucket to break. if you can find plastic trays that have smaller cubes it would probably work ok..peyton

Ice tray not filling

Open your freezer and remove the ice bin. You will see the mechanism and the tray that fills with water to make the cubes. On the left there should be a rocker switch that turns the ice maker on and off with a green light that tells you if its on or not, under the ice cobe tray there is a small paddle that should move, give it a wiggle. On the right you will see the wire for the ice maker, make sure that it is plugged in. Once the icemaker starts working (little green light comes on) you should have ice within 24 hours. You may need to remove the ice bin and a
small plastic louvered cover above it.

Hope this helps.

Hello: I hope that you can help. The ice maker on this model (et21dk) is spitting out water as well as cubes. As a result, my tray is a frozen lake of cubes. How do I fix this? Thanks. Ben My...

Ben open your freezer section and reach to the very back and top of your ice maker where the water inlet tube is located. Use your finger and check for ice formation near the end of the water inlet tube where the ice maker plastic water channel is.

If there is ice in that area unplug your unit and use a hair dryer to thaw out that area. Try not to keep the hot air blowing in the same place when your using the hair dryer so as not to melt any plastics. This some times just happens all by it self that there is ice formation in the water inlet area. While the unit is unplugged use the hair dryer to free your ice tray also.

Once you restart the unit it can take longer than usual before you have ice cubes again. Not more than 1 day. If you continue to have ice formation in your freezer section then your ice maker has and internal failure of either the water control micro switch or actuation lever. The ice maker can be repaired but the cost will be about 60 percent of the cost of a new icemaker..

Ice dispenser delivers only crushed ice.

Make sure the dispensor door flap is closing completely .
Remove the ice bin , close the door , set the display for cubed and press the dispensor pad . Do you hear a " clunk " sound ? If not , open the door and press on the light switch , and activate the pad again . On the back wall , next to the " forks " , is a square hole with a white plastic square . Does this plastic square raise up ? If not , remove the top freezer door hinge cover and disconnect the plug there ( this removes power to the dispensor ) , you will have to remove the 4 screws holding this panel , and determine if the solenoid is bad , wire came off , or plastic piece is broken . If the plastic piece does lift , then the problem is in the ice bin . Lift the long rod , and see if the flap moves , where the ice comes out . If not , you will have to determine why .

Water filter/ice system does not work. Water goes into the fridge but no ice is made and no water comes out of the front door dispenser

No water and no ice sounds like a bad water valve. It is located behind the panel where the water line enters the fridg.

Ice maker not ejecting ice and then tries to fill tray and leaks

The Ice Maker Tray had a small plastic piece break off. This piece aids the tray in bending to dislodge the ice from the tray. Bosch does not just sell the tray, you will have to buy the whole ice maker assembly. You will need to order Part # 0422 from Bosch. I was not very happy about having to spend $112.00 for this whole assembly when all I really needed was a simple ice cube tray.
Save the $112 and remove the ice maker. Buy Ice at the grocery store.

REPLACING ICE TRAY ON LG FRIG

remove one screw on front left of ice maker, loosen two others-one in back and one on right, the ice maker will slide out. unhook wiring harness and the whole thing comes loose, couldn't figure out how to dismantle it but once I had it out of frig I let it warm up enough so the plastic would bend enuff to get it out.
