There is nothing but the motor shaft. The belt rides on the shaft and around the brush assembly on the other end. The belts fail if the brush assembly gets jammed, for example from a rug ot debris. If this occurs you should immediately turn off the unit, unplug the power cord, and clear the jam. Also occasionally cleaning the brush and being sure the bearings on each end turn freely will help prolong belt life. The brush assemblies also look to be available. lysager@gmail.com

the motor spins around a steel shaft that sticks out on one end, and the belt is driven by that shaft, belts are easily damaged and broken, meaning roller wont spin. Often a burning smell of rubber is noticed after motor shaft spins on stuck belt. cause is always hair./string/something at the three contact points. motor shaft and belt, roller and vacuum body become clogged. become familiar with taking cover off roller/belt, and cleaning Checking moving parts roller/belt come out easily and simple to clean...keep spare belts.

Not 100% sure this is the remedy for that particular problem, but I would take the time to clean both of the brushes that the belts operate, one on each machine. Remove the brushes and clean as best you can. At the end of each brush there should be a small stiff plastic/rubber device that holds the brush in the sweeper frame. Clean these and spray some WD40 between the roller brush and each of the plastic parts on each machine. If the roller is difficult to turn is just might be the cause of the belt moving off to the side.
Please feel free to message me if this does not solve your problem. Paul

Belt keeps slipping off need to check the correct belt number and what can i do

What does it slip off of, the brush or the motor? Are you sure that it is in correctly, as there are usually 2 ways of putting the belt on. If put on correctly, it should not contact any part of the vacuum except the motor shaft and the brush. Also check check there is not a buildup of hair, etc. where the belt goes around the brush. I would try turning the brush by hand and see if anything is interfering with the path of the belt. There is always a chance that some part of your vacuum has broken or malfunctioned and is touching the belt and making it come off. Also, make sure that the brush is correctly installed.

The tension on the belt should be pretty high so that it is hard to pull out of place. If not, you could have the wrong belt. I believe that this takes a type "U" belt if that is any help. Hope this helps and good luck!

Vacuum Belt keep breaking

When your first belt burnt, the burnt plastics goes into the roller ends and then it dries off causing your roller to not turn or put more pressure on your belt. Until you clean that you will continue burning your belts soon after you put them in. You need to add a little bit of WD40 or any other type of lubricant after you remove the tar from the roller.

Roller does not turn; I was vacuuming a rug and a string got stuck in roller-took it off but now the roller will not turn. suction is fine.

The roller drive belt may be stripped, worn partway through where it goes around the motor shaft, thrown off the motor shaft, or broken. Take the bottom plate off the carpet sweeper and have a look.

If the belt was damaged when the roller brush got stuck, then you get to replace it. On most of these, the easiest way is to put the new belt around the roller pulley, reinstall the roller, stretch the belt around the end of the motor shaft, then turn the motor by hand while pushing the belt on. If the motor also has a pulley on it, you may have to remove the motor screws to get enough slack on the belt, then pull the motor into place and put the screws back in.

Eureka 5843 belt keeps slipping off of drive spindle.

Tough one. Typically the only 2 things that the belt contacts is the motor drive spindle and the brush roller. Anything else would only be there to protect the belt from debris. Can you turn the brush by hand and see why the belt is coming off? Is the spindle wobbly? If so, you may need another motor as I don't think it is easy to get parts for the motor. Hope this helps and good luck!

Belt Keeps slipping off shaft

If this is a new belt that keeps coming off, then if not catching something in the roller like a scatter rug, etc then the belt isn't tracking true. The pulley may have come loose for one thing, something has to be off to have the belt come off. Does it come off almost right away, or after some uasge?

Bissell drive bely

Take the bottom plate off, check the brush roll while you have it off, make sure the ends turn freely, if not, then replace it also. The belt goes around the motor shaft and then around the brush roll.

Missing part on motor shaft?

the reason the belts are burning up so quickly is the old rubber from the other belts is still on the motor shaft.clean the shaft down to the polished finish then put on a new belt.make sure your brush roller turns freely .thats the other possiblity.the brush roller might be bad.sometimes hair and dirt get twisted around the ends and keeps it from turning

Vacuum motor shaft too hot

Check the brush roll ends, will they turn easily or is one frozen. If so, you need to replace the brush roll. If the motor turns on, it and the belt are trying to turn the brush roll and can't. Also check the ends where the brush roll sits in and make sure it hasn't overheated and melted., If it did you will have to replave the base.
