Question about Lincoln Electric Ranger 305G K1726-4 Welder
I have a Lincoln 305G that has only 75 hrs on it. It won't start, and when you try, the starter spins really fast, but does not engage and turn over the engine. is the starter at fault? or just the solenoid?
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

engine crank thrusts worn and crank moved back enough to not engage ,with a manual the clutch would push it forewards.or the flex plate on the back of the torque converter damaged and broke in teh centre where bolts to the crank

I don't believe there is a relay. Is the shift lever in park or neutral? Have you tried jiggling the shift lever? Check to see if you are getting power from one of the wires that go to the small terminals on the solenoid when the key is turned to start. If not, I suspect the neutral safety switch or the key switch.

try to rotate the engine by hand using appropriate socket and power handle at the engine drive pulley.if you can turn the engine freely then there is no engine problem.try to check the battery condition and lead wire going to the starter. If everything is ok then have your starter repaired
