No signal

Press the Function Button to open the short cut menu. Locate the Input graphic and press the button for it. Each time you press the button, it will cycle between DVI and VGA input jacks. Allow a few seconds for the display to switch inputs. Make sure that cable is connected securely to the associated jack in the back of the monitor and the computer (or other source). If either VGA or DVI input is selected ,but the VGA and DVI cables are not connected, a floating dialog box indicates:

"No Cable Connect" or "No Signal"

My monitor doesnt come on i have model x163 what driver do i need

You don't need a driver for a monitor. It displays the signal that the Video Card sends to it. Check the power cable and monitor video cable at the monitor and at the computer. Disconnect these cables and then reconnect them and tighten the thumbscrews to secure the connection. If you have an onboard video card, you may have a problem with your motherboard, RAM, Processor, Harddrive or Video Card that is preventing the computer from turning on. If you use a PCI, PCI-Express, AGP, etc. video card, check to make sure is it securely seated in it's slot. Also check the power cables going to the video card (if any) and the monitor cable connected to the video card. Else you may have a failed video card, or a problem with your motherboard, RAM, Processor, Harddrive or Video Card that is preventing the computer from turning on.

The screen says no signal

If you have already verified the connection between your computer and the monitor you can try these steps to attempt to get an image on your monitor.

First, check your monitor for a button that says "source" or a button that has a square with an arrow pointing to the center. This will switch where your monitor looks for the signal.

A good rule to follow is if your monitor is connected to the computer by a cable with white ends, you should select "Digital", and if it is connected with a cable with blue ends, you should select "Analog" or "VGA". It is possible, but unlikely that your monitor is connected in any other way.

If these steps still do not work, follow these steps exactly:
  1. Press the windows logo key 220px-ctl_wndws_alt.jpg and "R" (This opens the "Run" window.
  2. Type this command: "shutdown /s /t 0" without the quotes. The shutdown command with the "/r" and "/t 0" switches tell shutdown to restart the computer at "time 0" which is immediately
  3. Wait for the computer to restart and it should automatically detect the correct display to use.
  4. If all else fails and you cannot get the display to connect, restart the computer and press "F8" until the computer comes up into safe mode. From there you can verify whether or not the monitor is actually functional, as driver incompatibility issues are not a problem when running in safe mode.

When i switch on my pc the monitor display a blue power light for 5 seconds and then it turns to orange and nothing displays on screen.

Make sure you have connected the Video cable properly, Please disconnect the Video cable from the Computer and connect the monitor only to the power source. If you monitor shows anything like "Check video cable" or "No Signal" that means the monitor is working fine. You just need to connect it properly to the computer

Monitor displays signal cable disconnected

Check your VGA connector (from monitor to PC), namely the pins in the connector. It's pretty easy to bend a pin, so that it doesn't make the connection. If you happen to do this to the connection present pins, then the monitor won't know that it is connected and will just display the message you are seeing.

Check signal message when data cable unplugged. blank screen when data cable plugged

This problem is most likely to be caused by a bent or broken pin on the CRT video cable at the VGA connector, OR, this could also be caused by a damaged VGA connector on the back of the laptop. If neither VGA connector is at fault, the problem could be caused a damaged (kinked) CRT data cable, or internal damage to the VGA connector on the back of the laptop, though I suspect the problem is more likely to be external, and you probably won't have to disassemble the laptop to locate the culprit...
