Is the motor shot when it makes a loud noise?

Hi! If you notice a change in your motor's pitch, that may mean your filter needs cleaning. Try removing the filter and tapping it clean in your waste basket. If that doesn't help, just let us know. You can reach us here on Fixya, at Facebook.com/DirtDevil, or @DirtDevil on Twitter. Hope this helps!

Do my Dirt Devil have a restart button it just stop running

Hi! No the vacuum doesn't have a restart button, but it does have a thermal protector that will shut the vacuum down when it is overheated. If your dirt cup was too full this will activate the thermal protector sensor. Clogs and dirty filters can cause this as well. We recommend emptying the dirt cup, tapping out the filter and checking the hose for clogs. The vacuum will come back on usually within 45 minutes to an hour. Hope this helps. Vacuum sucks but won't with hose??

Hi! First, make sure you are disconnecting the hose from the handle and not from down below when you want to use the tools. If you are, then you may have a clog in your hose. Give these steps a try.

1.Detach the hose from both ends.
2.Use a broom stick or something similar to gently loosen and remove any clogs in the hose.

A filter can also cause loss of suction.

3.Remove the dirt cup lid and pull out the primary filter.
4.Hold filter under running water to rinse. Allow 24 hours to air dry.
5. Remove the exhaust filter from the base of the vacuum. Hold filter under running water to rinse. Again, allow 24 hours to air dry.

Good luck! If this does not help please reach out to us here on Fixya, Facebook/dirtdevil or Twitter @DirtDevil.

Why dirt devil breeze no power?

Hello! The Breeze is equipped with a thermal protector that will cause the vacuum to automatically shut off when it is overheated. This is most likely caused by a clog or a filter that needs to be cleaned or replaced. When the thermal protector is activated the vacuum will need to cool down before it will power back on. This can take up to an hour. Try these quick steps below to prevent the vacuum from shutting off again.

1. Twist off the end to the lower hose that connects to the brushes.
2. Use a wooden spoon to gently looses and remove any blockages in the lower hose.
3. Remove the pleated filter from the dirt cup. Tap the filter firmly against a trash can until the dirt stops falling. The filter should be replaced every 6 months.

I have included a link where you may go to purchase the F1 filter for your vacuum. If you still have questions please feel free to reach out to us here on Fixya, Facebook.com/dirtdevil, or Twitter @DirtDevil. Thanks! F1 HEPA Filter

How to replace batteries for dirt devil kurv

Need to buy new sub-c 1.2 V Ni-Cd battery and solder them in. I did it and it was moderately difficult - especially since the unit was not designed for this repair - you will most likely crack the housing try to dis-assemble. I have lots of experience in electrical repair, and I would not recommend the effort unless you like this kind of stuff.
