SOURCE: craftsman gas leafblower

All small engines take a few minutes to warm up...especially so as they age.

You have to learn to 'feather' the throttle to very, very slowly increase the gas.

After it is warmed up, you are much more likely able to rev it up...release, etc.

I've had many over the years, and this is a very common problem...that you learn how to handle.

SOURCE: brand new leafblower first use and it stalled

hopefully unless it is a 4 cycle? you mixed 2 cycle oil and fuel together as one and put it in the fuel tank? you can use a 40:1 mixture 3.2 oz of 2 cycle oil to 1 gallon of fuel 87 octane will work or 89 octane is better.
if its a 4 cycle (10w-30 for oil) and fuel go in a seperate area?check your manual to verify what they would like you to use

SOURCE: poulan leaf blower won't start

Check the fuel lines for cracks/breaks. If they are o.k., then:

You will need to disassemble the carburetor and spray with carb.cleaner.Make sure the small screen is free of debris. (Should be able to see daylight through it.)

Use a Den Tek Brush, (http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=165357&catid=1152),to clean the small portals in carb. These portals can become blocked. Reassemble and start.

If the carb. parts are more than 4 years old, you may have to replace them.

If you need further assistance on:
1. Fuel line replacement or
2. Carburetor kit replacement

Just let me know.

SOURCE: craftsman gas leafblower

I just worked on my craftsman leaf blower that would only run at half choke. I tried cleaning the carb and also cleaned the exhaust port. Didn't help. Then i took the cover off and noticed that one of the head gasket bolts was loose. Tightened the head gasket bolts and then it ran fine. Must have been sucking some air.

Gas blower engine surges and shuts off when engine gets hot

check your fuel lines for cracks, could be sucking air or could be your carb needs cleaning, make sure you clean the screen inside the carb, if you run it with the choke on partially does it smooth out and quit surging, if so it is definitely a fuel problem. Hope I helped you. 2StrokeJim

My Poulan Pro 295 chain saw starts fine, runs for a few minutes, then stops and will not start until completely cool. What could be my problem?

It sounds very much loke the ignition is playing up when hot, just as a little test when it starts to die slacken off the fuel filler cap does it pick up/re start? if yes it is a fuel tank breather issue, replace the breather.

2005 Poulan PD17542LT Lawn tractor, It starts fine but after cutting my front yard (20-30min) it dies, it will start up but dies in a few sec. If I let it set and cool off I can get 20=30 min till it gose...

Normal maintenance been applied to this rider ? Filters, lube, cleanings ? This sounds like an electrical issue (component hot), or a vacuum in the fuel tank. Next time it 'stops' open the fuel tank up and listen to any air 'whooshing' in.
