Please note that to use the iTunes sync and the Nano itself, you will need to meet the minimum specs for your PC. So if you don't meet that spec for your product, you will cause a critical failure on your PC. And if your computer is old or is lacking the requirments then you should:
1. Sync a small amount at a time.
2. Upgrade your computer to meet the minimum requirements, (and if you do meet the minimum know that only means that you can sync and it isn't saying you will definately sync) You should meet at least the optimum spec requirments otherwise you will crash the computer or lock up the Nano.
3. If you haven't already install the Nano's software into the PC, then download all needed updates before syncing.

if you have an Apple logo stuck on the screen) try the following sequence of steps:
Hold down Select / Menu (to reboot the iPod)
As soon as the Apple logo appears, hold down Rewind / Select until...
...you see a backwards Apple Logo.
At this point, you will have entered Diagnostic Mode. It'll
test the RAM, and then tell you to HIT PLAY TO CONTINUE. Hit 'Play'.
You'll be in a menu that you advance by hitting FF (Fast Forward). Advance to the 'DISKMODE' entry.
Hit 'Select.' This will put you into Firewire Disk mode. The
screen should change to the familiar 'Do Not Disconnect' mode. At this
point, connect it to the computer.
Run the restore utility; it should now recognize the iPod and
offer to Restore the factory software. Do so. You'll lose whatever's on
it, but you'll avoid having to send it back in to Apple and pay them
$49 or whatever to do basically the same thing. :-)
Reconnect ipod to pc..After ipod says connected in computer remove hardware click on ipod..wen says safe to remove hard ware look on ipod to it saying disconnecting..Afetr full disconnecting push and hold pause/play button down for more than 5to 10 seconds..Should work properly..
Try resetting it by toggling the hold switch and putting it back in the off position. Then press and hold the center button and the menu button for about 6 seconds until the ipod goes off and the Apple logo appears. After that, it should work like new. Hope this helps.
