First connect to the Livebox (without the range extender) to see if you can access the internet. If you can get on the net there open your browser and type http://dlinkap.local in the address line, and set-up the d-link. the most common problem is the password on the router (the livebox).
Yes, you need to press button #1 on the livebox , which will put it into 'accepting new wifi devices' mode. This lasts about 1 hour.Presumably you've entered the wep key from the label on the bottom of the livebox into your macbook? don't forget it's got to be UPPERCASE characters!
Yes it is compatible with any livebox as long you have a wifi connection...You just nees to reset your phone and security key and reset your livebox and type in the security key of your livebox its always found under the livebox.
You most likely need to reconfigure the livebox settings. The Livebox lost the settings because it was unplugged too long. Most router settings can be accessed by typing in 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 in the URL address bar of any web browser. From there, make sure that all other switches and devices on the network are on the same network. Meaning if your Livebox default gateway is 192.168.1.1 make that the switch that other devices are connecting to the network through are assigned the IP address 192.168.1.x where x is any number other than 1. I hope this help, I know its not comprehensive enough but once I'm a 'Guide' you will be able to chat with. Then we can have conversation via IM Chat. This is my area of expertise.
You need to out the Livebox into pairing mode to allow the iPod Touch to connect. Press the button marked '1' on the back of the Livebox. This will start the wireless LED flashing and puts the Livebox into 'Pairing' mode. Use the WEP key that is printed on the label on the bottom of the Livebox. NOTE: There is a limit to the number of devices you can connect.(6)
Press pairing 1 button on the back of the livebox and then type in security code make sure that you type in each character in capital letters as the code it is case sensitive (don't set caps lock) for each character use the shift key - You will now be connected to the livebox.
