You may have to install or update drivers Most of the
drivers/software I get are from a web site driverguide.com you need to fill out
a free registration then search for the driver you need download it in a format
you can use install it and then most times reboot the computer

Are you running Vista 64x? Just bought a HP Pavilion w/ Vista 64 and experienced the same issues.
Apparently Samsung doesn't have drivers suitable for 64x and no longer
supports the product. I tried downloading Dell 1100 drivers (same
printer) to no avail.
How I fixed it:
Took about a day and a half of on again off agin fiddling with it, but I'm stubborn and hate to toss a perfectly good 3yo printer ;-)
Installed WinRar then downloaded drivers from Samsung for the MPF- 560 for XP 64x.
Decompressed the download, then maunally installed the .inf file
Start>control panel>add Hardware>printers>have disk> then drill down to the .inf file and install. Viola.
