SOURCE: Water dispenser problem?
grandfunk, by your post, it sounds like the line is frozen over. You will have to do some tests. First rule out the dispenser itself. While someone is calling for water see if you have 120V to the water valve. If you do, we ruled out the dispenser. Behind the toe panel there should be a water line with a john guest fitting going up the door. Disconnect it there and call for water. Catch it with a cup. If the water is flowing there, you might be frozen up in the door. I have found a couple of these models with that problem. If it's not flowing there, behind the lower drawers in the refrigerator section is the water coil tubing. Take a hair dryer and go over it lightly. It could be frozen over there. Check these things first and post back. Catriver.

Hi, Guys, There are three solutions to this problem:
1) Using a hair blower to warm the other side of the freezer door-----i.e. at where water dispenser is located; This may take 3 to 5 minutes;
2) Take out the filter, pour out the inside water, then fill in with hot water (really hot), then put it back on. This needs at least 24 hours to work
3) Turn on the light near the water dispenser, and keep it on for at least 24 hours. The light heat may eventually de-freeze water dispenser tube.
I tried methods 2) and 3) together. It took 10 hours to get water flow again.
Important: I need to point it out that the credit be given to other posts addressing the same problem at fixya site, though of different GE models.

have two points where you can check the dispenser water. At the rear where the
water supply comes in is the water inlet valve. If you disconnect the dispenser
water line and then see if the water comes out when you try the
dispenser. If it's slow here there is a valve our water supply problem. If it's
normal, disconnect it at the bottom of the freezer door and try again.If it's
normal here it may be frozen in the door. If this is the case open the door
till it thaws. A blanket over the opening will prevent thawing of all the
