How to fix mirrors on NEC NP400 projector?

Hello there,

I know this problem all too well so my answer may be what you (and others) are looking for in the following thread: http://www.fixya.com/support/t25268267-get_rid_dark_shadow_across_top_screen

Basically what happens is a prism in the projector has become dislodged due to the cheap adhesive they use and the extreme heat it's subjected to. Some JB-Weld Steel Reinforced Epoxy will fix it right up. Just read my instructions in the above link.

The Meade 8" SCT LX90 is a very good all round unit. Although angry, you will find it is well worthwhile persevering.
The back plate, called the optical back, takes an eyepiece holder into which you can also fit your diagonal prism for comfortable viewing. It is part 3 in the diagram here, Fig 1
http://www.meade.com/manuals/TelescopeManuals/LXseries/LX90-LNT.pdf

All you need is the right size holder for this scope, such as
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/202598-REG/Meade_07182_Eyepiece_Holder_aka_Visual.html

Any telescope shop can sell you one, but take care to get one that also fits the barrel of your prism, which will be either 1.25" or 2"

If this is a REFLECTOR style telescope with a mirror in the bottom you do NOT need a diagonal. If this is a refractor style telescope, do NOT use the 2x barlow it is probably too much magnification for the scope-- Just use the eyepieces without the barlow.

Many of these small spotting scopes are GLUED together. -- not screwed. The scope is NOT suitable for Astronomy, but could be used for birding and or target practice.
