Re: Hole in door gasket of a Hotpoint 9901w washer dryer.
It is quite involved to change the seal, as requires a partial strip down, if the hole is not very big, then you can do a fairly good repair using a bicycle punture repair kit..
Remove the plastic clip that holds the clamp ring on the front of the washer seal at the top, remove the clamp ring, take note how it is fitted, then pull seal off front of washer, and fit patch on underside of seal, refit seal and clamp, and job done!!!!
Plz rate my solution.

Most door gaskets are available online, most recommended taking drum out to replace, but task can easily be done by removing rubber from hole in machine (end of a spoon helps) then push drum back through the hole and you will see a large clip on rubber to the drum, unscrew clip and pull out rubber, reverse to replace. Good luck.
first check to see if you can manually turn the drum ..then go to back of dryer in the center their is a cover plate...remove 2 screws to see the drum shaft ...remove the snap ring to remove the 2metal washers..and 1 fiber washer ..their should be a fiber sleave/bearing that slides onto the shaft that is in a metal bracket ...this is the rear support for the drum ..its prob.. out of bracket an grinding a big er hole ///or the front of the dryer drum slides are bad ..if you did the belt they are on top of the front panel of the dryer door they are plastic slides ..the inside of the drum has to be ontop of them to rotate ....let me know an good luck.../joe/
Is the hole, or a tear? If its a hole, that's the normal hole to get the excess water out of the door gasket. If there is a tear, you'll need to replace the door gasket. The smell you get, is due to not leaving the door open, you'll need to leave this, and the dispencer open all the time, when your not washing. The unit needs to vent, in order not to have build-up of mildew/mold.
Carefully check the door seal for any sign of a hole or tear in the seal.
Or it could be leaking from the drum front or the drum front seal, this is another seal , not the door seal., you cannot see this without removing the front panel.
Unlikely to be filter leaking.
Carefully check the door seal for a split or hole in it, it is easy to miss a hole, so examine it closely.
The filter is located inside the large black hose fastened to bottom of drum.
Hope this helps.
If red keyhole symblo is flashing continuously, make sure the door is firmly closed. this should then clear the symbol.
Hope this solves your problem. Come back to me if you need more info.
