Question about Canon PIXMA MX310 All-In-One Printer
I have refilled the magenta colour catridge in my printer. Now after installing the catridge to the printer it dosent automatically know its full and to reset itself. And a red cross appears on top of the magenta colour if you look at the printer screen. Now i have pressed all the cleaning settings there are but no go . Apart from reseting the chip by machine is there any other cheat mode we can beat the printer with?
I had refilled the catrige, then when I start to print a 'service
error' window will appear. At the LCD screed shows E.. 4 ..2. I believe
the printer simply assume the catridge is depleted, but how can it
happened as I already just refilled it.
How to make printer detected the catridge as a full? I really hope you can solve and make my refilling mission succesful and my printer work again.

easy one.. open the front of the printer, where the paper comes out. Place your thumb under the lip of the printer just under the name Canon and lift. The top of the printer will lift up and lock into place when you lift it high enough. Do this with the printer turned on and the cartridges will slide out from the right into the middle for easier replacement. If you do this and the printer is turned off, the cartridges are hidden from view as they are parked on the rest stand underneath the front panel buttons. Press the grey cartridge release towards the front of the printer and the cartridge enclosure will open, remove the cartridge, refit the new one (or the old one), close the enclosure cover and then drop the top cover by pushing the support leg towards the back of the printer as you lower the top. Then go into control panel, printers and scanners and right click on the printer icon. Select properties, then select the maintainence tab. click on the printer alignment and follow the procedure.. Done..

Hi, The scanning unit is independent from printing unit. You can scan even with empty ink cartridges. At sametime, if you wanna copy documents, you need both scanning and copying units to work. Try reinstalling the Driver from the provided drive CD.
