Sounds like there is a connection problem inside your computer. unless you are trained in computer repairs DO NOT DISASSEMBLE. call technical support and see what they tell you and if they have somewhere you can send the laptop for repairs. find out how much repairs will cost before you send it because sometimes repairs cost more than a replacement laptop.

SOURCE: startup problem

that wouldn't mean the processor is off, it means there is a problem with the motherboard. I don't know the exact problem with the motherboard. but it could be something wrong with the processor too. but I suggest you take your PC to like Circuit city, best buy, or your local computer shop to have them take a look at.

SOURCE: the lightning bolt on my hp touchsmart tx2 flashes

that means your laptop has no power so your battery is dead which would explain why it shut down on you, and that means its not charging so it would either be the adapter or the port on your laptop

SOURCE: Dell Vostro 1510 Laptop; cant get anything on the screen

Same thing happened to me.
I stumbled on this link and the solution made sense to me.
http://en.community.dell.com/dell-groups/new-to-community/f/3511/t/19323146.aspx

What I did was to nudge in the Hard drive to make sure it wasn't loose and press down slightly on the processor even though it didnt feel loose.

Worked for me. Though I'd help someone else since someone else 's post helped me.

SOURCE: HP G61 NOTEBOOK PC BIOS

It would seem that your BIOS has become corrupted somehow. First try entering your BIOS setup. I believe for HP computers when you press power tap the F10 key until it opens. There you can try to reset them in some fashion and save. Try rebooting. If that fails then remove the battery and repeatedly press the power button for about 10 seconds.. (make sure it is also unplugged, this is to discharge the power from the system) then replace the battery and try booting again. Otherwise it would seem that you might have tried to load the wrong BIOS into your laptop. Check with HP then if you are still covered or not. :/

no OS stated, what operating system is running,??????
has the OS been upgraded, or changed? we cant guess that.
The Drivers on this touch pad are failing.
if you go to HP.com you can get the correct drivers.
but they will ask you for the full model number not just terse tx2

see them here.
https://support.hp.com/us-en/products/laptops/touchsmart-notebooks

there are 4 , classes of TX2

failures like this are software or hardware caused.
if software can be virus infected, that both vista and Xp worse
will be... and endless. pain there.
or someone loaded wrong OS, or wrong drivers.

all that is called OS corrupted, in one form are another.
Id reload the OS using real HP disks.
or try the drivers seen here.

i guessed VISTA 32, if not vista 32, tell HP what it is now.

launch the Toggle Keys dialog box by holding down the Num Lock button for five seconds, and clicking Yes. Thereafter, a loud beep will sound through your computer's speakers whenever Caps Lock is turned on or off. (To turn Toggle Keys off, once again hold down your Num Lock button for five seconds.)

This document pertains to HP Notebook PCs with the HP Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) beginning in late-2008. On startup, you may see a blank screen. If the diagnostic utilities detect a specific problem with hardware components, the fan turns on, but the screen remains blank. To help identify the cause of the problem, various LED lights on the keyboard blink a series of codes. The diagnostic utilities use the LEDs near the Num Lock or Caps Lock keys to blink a series of error codes. At the end of the series the blinking stops. The pattern of blinks will occur any time you attempt to start the computer until the error is resolved. Battery power LED blinks The Battery power LED indicates the condition of the power supply. When starting the computer, or when the computer is in operation, use the chart to identify the power condition. Battery Power LED Component Tested Error Condition Battery power LED off, and Caps Lock/Num Lock off Battery or AC Adapter AC adapter not connected or failure

Battery low charge or failure Battery power LED blinking Battery Insufficient charge on the battery When new computer is used for first time, the white LED light for the AC power connector blinks. Battery is still in "Shipping Mode", the light continues to blink even when AC power is connected.

To resolve, turn off notebook, connect AC power and allow battery to charge for at least 30 minutes, then start computer. LEDs near Caps Lock and Number Lock keys blink when starting notebook The LED lights near the Caps Lock and Num Lock keys will blink if an error is detected during the start up process. The LEDs will blink a number of times in a sequence and then stop. The number of blinks in the sequence indicates what component caused an error when it was being tested during start up. If the LEDs stop blinking and the computer does not start, you can press the power button again to repeat the tests. Count the number of blinks, and use the chart to identify the error condition. Knowing the number of blinks is helpful when you contact an HP support agent for technical help.
