Press cursor-down (marked with a one-handed clock) then select the self-timer. Start the self-timer by pressing the shutter release button as usual. Press the "Func/Set" button, then select the "square" icon. Then move right/left to select either the 2 (2seconds) or the 10 (10 seconds) icon. Then press "Func/Set" again.

To reset back to normal, repeat the above, but select the square.

According to page 57 of my copy of the A480 manual:

Press down-arrow.

Select the self-timer (the 10 inside a clockface).

Press FuncSet.

This sets the self-timer. Press the shutter halfway to focus, and fully to take the shot.

I have a Canon PowerShot A2200 - is there a timer so I can be in the picture with friends?


According to the manual there would be a 10 sec timer that can be set for this unit.

Where is self timer on canon power shot A710IS camera


It's on the ring around the "Func/Set" button. Press the bottom of the ring to cycle between single shot and timer settings. When you have selected a timer shot, press the shutter button to start the timer.

What is the proper sequence in setting up self Timer I lost my instruction book. I never used timer in the past; I have a cannon power shot A560. I go to menu and scroll to timer set 10 sec and 2 shots....


First you press the self timer button. Then press the shutter button to start the timer.

From the menu, select Drive Mode (third item from the top) then one of the self-timer options. Start the self-timer by pressing the shutter release button.
