It may sometimes take a couple of minutes to show, programmes respond quicker dependant on the amount of RAM that is available at the time, ie, if you are only running 512kb of ram its gonna be slower than a pc running 2gb of ram. they did a survey on this and on average it takes a minute or two to show it as connected and to obtain IP address etc

How to enable bluetooth on my hp pavilion dv7

link to driver if not installed alredy

if driver installed :

Check that your PC has a built-in Bluetooth device by consulting its user guide. If it does not, you'll need to buy an external receiver often referred to as a "dongle" and connect it to a spare USB port.

Ensure that your wireless and Bluetooth receiver is turned on. Touch the antenna symbol next to your PC's volume control. It will turn blue when it's on and amber when it's off.

Go to the "Control Panel" from the start menu and select "HP Wireless Assistant" if you're using XP. You'll need to go via "Network and Internet" if you're running Vista or Windows 7.

Make sure your Bluetooth adapter is enabled. If you get a warning that it's not, click on "Windows Device Manager," right-click on your Bluetooth device and select "Enable."

Go back to the "HP Wireless Assistant" window and press the "Turn on" button next to the Bluetooth icon if it's not already showing as being activated. Your Bluetooth device is now on and you're ready to connect to another enabled unit.

I have a pavilion dv7-7123cl and the wireless is not working..the signal is always orange when it should be blue

The light is pressure sensitive. Press it and see if it turns blue. If that doesn't fix your problem then the adapter might be disabled. To check that go into your Network and Sharing center and on the left side of the screen click on manage network connections. There should not be an X on wireless network connection, if there is then right click on it and choose enable.

Wireless button doesnt work

If the wireless light is amber even if you turn on the wireless light, then follow these steps
1. Go to device manager, Under network adaptor check for the wireless driver eg- Broadcom Wireless LAN Driver or Atheros Wireless LAN Driver, if present then right click and uninstall and choose uninstall then follow step 2, if not present then follow step 2.
2. Search for recovery manager under all programs, click advanced tab - select driver download and click next - choose the driver(ie - boradcom or atheros) - click install - restart the computer.
Then check the wireless light.
3. Do a bios update of the notebook.

4. If still no go then Reseat the wirless card on your notebook.
Situated at the bottom pannel of notebook ,you will find a compartment with a image of tower with signals unscrew that compartment and the carefully remove the wireless card and put it back again and repete the step 2.

Wlan is disabled: nedd to know how to turn on wirless. What switch

The wireless radio is on the media bar over the keyboard to the right hand side. It must be on in order for the WLAN to be enabled.

Below is the service manual, the picture that shows the wireless switch is on page. 9 and 10
