SOURCE: I have a Dometic 3862.

Start the refrigerator and switch to the GAS mode. Check that the gas flame Is lit and the GAS mode Indicator lamp (C) is on. Close the manual gas shut-off valve at the back of the refrigerator. Wait for one minute. The CHECK indicator lamp (E) should be on and the GAS mode indicator lamp (C) should be off. -------------- When operating in the GAS mode the AUTO mode indicator lamp (D) will be off and the GAS mode indicator lamp (C) will be illuminated. This mode provides LP gas operation only. The control system will activate the ignition system and will attempt to light the burner for a period of approximately 45 seconds. If unsuccessful, the CHECK indicator lamp (E) will illuminate and the GAS mode indicator lamp (C) will turn off. To restart GAS operation, press the main power ON/OFF button (1) to the OFF and then ON position. The control system will attempt a new 45 second ignition sequence. If the refrigerator has not been used for a tong time or the LP tanks have just been refilled, air may. be trapped in the supply lines. To purge the air from the lines may require resetting the main power ON/OFF button (1) three or four times. If repeated attempts fail to start the LP gas operation, check to make sure that the LP gas supply tanks are not empty and all manual shutoff valves in the lines are open. If the problem is still not corrected, contact a service center for assistance. If the control is switched to AC or DC (3-way models only) operation while the CHECK indicator lamp is on, it will function properly, but the CHECK lndicator lamp will not go off until the main power ON/OFF button is pressed to the OFF then ON position. ----------- Check the burner-jet,burner tube ,burner screw and the spark electrode. Try cleaning the burner assembly:--- Unplug the refrigerator power cord from the 120 volt AC outlet. Disconnect or shut off the 12 volt power to the refrigerator. Turn manual shutoff valve to OFF. Remove cover from the bumer housing. Disconnect the wire from the high voltage electrode. Remove the burner mounting screw end remove the burner assembly. Remove the wire and flue baffle from the top of flue tube. Clean the flue from the top using a flue brush. Blowing compressed air into the flue will not properly clean soot and scale out of the flue tube. Replace the flue baffle. Clean burner tube with a brush. Blow out burner with compressed air. Before removing burner jet, clean burner area of soot and scale that fell out of flue tube. Remove the bumer jet. Soak the- jet in wood alcohol and Mow it out with compressed air. Re-install and tighten burner jet NOTE: The color of the flame shall be clear blue over the slots of the burner. Reinstall burner, being careful that the end of the burner fits into the slot on the burner bracket. Check to make sure slots are centered under the flue tube and the thermocouple is positioned properly (tip of thermocouple extends over two slots of burner). Se sure to reconnect the wire to high voltage electrode. Check the electrode for proper location and gap.If still the same problem then burner needs to be replaced. Thanks. My Goodman GPG1324 won't start up on the heat. Is there a pilot light that can go out? We had a new gas water heater installed this spring.

My problem is with the central heat. The thermostat will click, but the heater doesnt come on. What will cause that?

Dometic RM 2800 Works great on AC but not on LP


Most likely cause is a blocked gas jet in the main burner its rare for the thermostat to be faulty but you cant dismiss it

Dometic rv fridge runs fine on elec, lights on gas but in one min shuts down. Dometic RV S1621 fridge runs fine with elec, when start gas operation. The burner runs for about 30 seconds then shuts off....


It is key that all control switches are in the correct position, depending on what power source you are using, gas, electric, etc. If the switches are not in the proper setting, the unit will not operate.

Here's the manual for your fridge that should be printed out for your use and reference (and reading enjoyment). It has all the info needed to operate and troubleshoot it.

Typically, when using any gas appliance with a pilot light, the sensor has to first be hot enough to trigger it to allow the safety gas shutoff to open and allow the gas to flow to the pilot/burner. Follow the instructions and you should be all set.

Dometic rm 2612. Shuts down on gas.

Check the burner assembly. 1 screw, remove the sheet metal cover and clean it. The burner collects rust. This is the likely. Other issues would be the gas pressure usually checked with a manometer. Should 11" of water column. If your furnace works good then the gas pressure is probably ok. Also could have a faulty ignitor which sends a miliamp signal back to the circuit board. Check the burner first, after that leave the cover off and turn the fridge on. Watch the ingnitor attempt to lite the burner. Be sure the spark is going to the burner and not shorting out on the sheet metal it is mounted in. If it is shorting to the frame the ignitor needs replacing.
