you can try contacting yahoo and explain to the the situation, but im under the impression that the account is a write off. inform ALL your friends that the account is hijacked, create a new email (i recommend gmail) and use a strong password. typically, NO email provider EVER asks you to confirm account info "before deletion" so treat any emails that want ANY personal info as "phishing" and delete them immediately.

If you think that this is not your Secret Question...then click the option This is not my secret question down to the box ..and reset the password with correct info. If still unable to do please comment here.
If you're typing your password in and it's not letting you log in. Make sure caps lock is off. If it still won't work then it will ask you for your secret questions/tell phone number. The reason it does this is because when you first created your account you set secret info that only you know and if you ever forget your password or someone else gets it, you can recover your account with the secret info. If someone else has changed your password and you can't remember your recovery i.e 2 questions and cell phone number, unfortunately u will have to make a new email account. Try to remember what they were, I know u probably created it along time ago so chances are u've forgotten. U might want to make sure there's no viruses on ur computer too. Download AVG free and run a scan.
If your secret question is not the one it should be, then you are either trying to get into the wrong account, or someone has guessed the answer to your secret question and changed it, so they now have access to your email account.
You cannot access now, period. However, *S* This happened to a friend of mine once, and he opened a new email account and sent an email to his OLD account very politely asking for the password so he could get his email back. Sure enough, he must have been a nice hacker, because he sent him the new password. He then accessed his account again, and changed the password and the hint question ( to a better one)
The net can be a very surprising place. *s* Good luck.
