If not completely undo every little change effects that have been done, remove all security. erase the wireless profiles from your actual machine that you are trying to connect. and restart the process. I am really for sure for security but i was going to suggest finding the highest level of security your network adapter can support. If this is an older card it will have its limitations,

Hi there are you using this wirelessly? it sounds that the network key on your PC doesnt match to the one that is stored on the router. therefore you will not be able to connect.
