Sound device instal to my system

can you be more specific? i am assuming you dont hear any sound.

first off, make sure that you speakers are plugged in. (both power and to the sound card) because some speakers require ac power.

here is where the speakers go:

at the bottom of that page, the green audio port.

second is the audio driver. which is more likely your culprit.

you will have to find out who made your sound card.

a standard pc has the sound card built into the motherboard, so your drivers will be provided for you by either the pc manufacturer, (ie, dell, gateway) or by the motherboard manufacturer, like biostar for instance.

if you dont have the driver disk, you will first need to find out who made the card. if your profficient in using a computer you can extract this information with a program called siw.

siw can be downloaded here:

once you have that information, you then need to find your driver.

you can usually get that from the manufacturer, for instance a intel chipset driver for your motherboard sound card from intel, or a creative labs sound driver from

if not, your next best bet is to sign up for a free acount from

driverguide is annoying, constantly trying to get you to buy products, but they have a very large driver selection. and you can get the drivers free there.

to see the status of your devices go to device manager for more info.

right click on my computer icon>properties>hardware tab>device manager.

you can also uninstall, reinstall, and update device drivers here.
