I could see the progress in the battery down right corner. If entire battery becomes black then it is full charged. However I have a problem of the charge getting discharged very fast i.e., when the player is NOT powered OFF.

Why wont stay charged..used 2 times

If the lead acid rechargeable battery hasn't been charged for a while (like over the winter) it can lose its "memory". Try leaving it plugged in and charging for two or three days - it might fix the problem.

New battery just put boat in water always had a solar powered charger on battery took it off about a week ago today went to start boat battery dead. I do not know if it has altanator or what have a friend...

You will need to do 3 tests:
1 - you must find out if you have a short in the wiring: disconnect the + cable from the battery and put an ampermeter in there to close the circuit; if a current is detected it means that you have a short and it will drain the battery. To locate the short start disconnecting wires and look at the meter - when you will disconnect the wire that goes to the failed wire or part the current will stop flowing; find the faulty part and fix or replace it.
2 - you must find out if the alternator is charging the battery correctly: start the motor, wait for half an hour then measure the voltage on the battery. If it's below 14.1 volts then the alternator is failing and it will have to be replaced.
3 - you must find out if the battery is in good working order: after the second test has finished shut down the engine and disconnect the battery; wait one hour and measure it -if the voltage on it has dropped to below 11.8 volts then the battery has aged and it's no longer holding the charge so replace it.

I have a 2007 Polaris Ranger 700 XP its not charging the battery. I have run it the same way since it was new. I have to charge the battery every few days. Please help! Thank you.

the voltage regulator keeps the battery charged so it could be bad but first, ...
1st Make sure your battery terminals are clean and tight, loose or corroded terminals will keep it from charging.
2nd make sure the voltage regulator is plugged in, sometimes a vibration, a crash or sudden stop will cause a loose connection there.
3rd start the engine, put a voltmeter on the battery, at an idle it should read 12.50 - 13.0 Volts
if anything under 12.50, means the battery is not being charged at an idle.
rev up the motor to at least 2000-3000 rpm and see if the volatage increases. it shouldn't go any higher than 14.9 volts or its over charging.

If terminals are clean and tight and you get a good reading (12.5 - 14.9 volts).
Then your battery is bad.
if you dont get those readings then the voltage regulator is bad.

If voltage regulator is bad, you can replace it your self, it takes a 10mm socket to undo 2 bolts and just unplug it, plug the new one in and screw the 2 bolts in .
test it.

ride it, your done.
Have a good one

Hi With the rechargeable lanterns that charge by electric or car charger what do you put the lantern on to charge turn it off or put it on on or dc?

You connect the charger to the lamp and plug the charger into an AC outlet. Having the lamp on will increase charge time. The charger does not appear to accept feedback from the battery so it depends on you to disconnect it when charge is complete.
