How to log into Dell Windows 7 computer forgot admin password?

Forgot Dell administrator password? Couldn't log on to Windows 7? It's really frustrated thing if Dell computer is locked since that happens. But even though, we can still find other ways to reset Windows 7 admin password without reset disk.

One: Reset Windows 7 admin password with Chntpw

The followings are the main steps to use Chntpw to reset Windows 7 forgotten admin password.

1. Get Chntpw and create a CD Windows password reset disk with it on available computer.

Besides Chntpw, iSunshare Windows Password Genius is another effective tool for creating Windows password reset disk.

2. Set your locked computer boot from CD-ROM.

When power on the computer, enter BIOS settings, choose BOOT option, and select CD-ROM as the first boot device.

3. Reset Windows 7 password to be blank

3.1 Select the partition where Windows was installed on

3.2 Select path and registry files

3.3 Select which part of registry to load, use predefined choices.

3.4 Edit user data and passwords, and select a user to reset its password. There is one simple choice - clear (blank) user password. Choose it and clear administrator password to blank instantly.

When successfully clear out the administrator password, quit out and press Ctrl + Alt + Del to restart computer, logging in to Dell Windows 7 computer without password.

Two: Reset Windows 7 password with Offline NT Password Registry Editor

Besides Chntpw, you can create a live cd or bootable usb with Offline NT Password Registry Editor which is a freeware program. It is based on the text console, so it may be a little difficult to carry out.

Here are the main steps to use Offline NT password registry editor:

<1> Get Offline NT Password Registry Editor and use it to create a live cd or bootable USB disk.

<2> Set your dell computer to boot with the USB

<3> Follow the Windows 7 password reset instruction to finish the operation when the password reset program starts.

CANNOT RESET PASSWORD

Which operating system ?????....
If you are regularly using a Windows laptop, it's always a good idea to password protect it, even if you are its sole user.
If you forget your password at any time, you will need to reset it.
You need to create a password reset disk before being able to reset your password.
If you know your password, but you just need to change it for security purpose, you can do that quickly as well.

Create Password Reset Disk

Turn on your laptop.
Insert a USB flash drive or other removable media.
This is where you will keep your password reset information.
According to Microsoft, you can only create one if you are a local user.
If your computer is on a network or domain, an administrator must reset your password.

Click the "Start" button. Click "Control Panel." Open "User Accounts and Family Safety." Click "User Accounts."

On the left-hand side, click "Create a Password Reset Disk."
Follow the instructions.
When completed, store your removable media in a safe place that you can access if you need to reset your password.

Reset Password

Turn on your laptop and log in to Windows.
If you cannot log in because you enter the wrong password,
Windows will show a message that you entered an incorrect password. Click "OK."Click "Reset Password."

Insert your password reset disk drive.

Follow the instructions in the Password Reset wizard.
This will allow you to create a new password.
Log in to Windows with the new password.
You can use the same password reset disk any time you need to reset your password.
Change Password
Turn on your laptop and log in to Windows.
Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete. A new screen will appear that gives you several options.
Click "Change a Password."
Type in your old password. Type in a new password.
Type your new password again.
Press Enter.

Write down your new password and keep it in a safe place.

Click to open User accounts. 2.In the left pane click create a "password reset disk" and then follow the instructions. 3.Now you can reset your password with this password reset disk. 4.Log on the computer and windows displays a "incorrect password". Click OK. 5.Click "reset password" and then your USB flash drive. 6.Follow the instructions. 7.Log with a new password. Hope this might help. I've tried this.

Laptop logs in at welcome screen after password is given then quickly logs out asking forpassword again

You are not typeing in to correct password.
If you can not remember the password, you will have to restore from restoration disks.
Check that your cap locks are not on and you are correct with entered password.
