Tektro manual brakes fitted, needed to find out the model. After much searching through Google, I found that Tektro IO gear fitted.

TECTRO DRACO HYDROLIC BRAKES THAT RUN OFF OFF MINERAL WATER, THE PADS YOU WILL HAVE TO TAKE OFF AND GO TO BIKE SHOP AND SEE IF YOU CAN MATCH THEM UP WITH NEWER BRANDS. YOU WILL MAINLY BE LOOKING FOR THE WAY IT CONNECTS TO BRAKE SYSTEM, YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO MESS WITH INTERNAL HYDROLICS OF THE BRAKES JUST REPLACE THE PAD.

SOURCE: im contemplating buying from auction

Cassettes are replaceable as is everything except the frame. I'd guess if the gears are worn so is the chain. Parts only = $70-ish? Look on eBay. Don't buy those parts used.

1989 toyota pickup front disk brake pads replaced, now the front calipers wont clear the new disk brake pads! Any solutions, please?

remove caliper, push disc all way home, put wheel nut on to hold home, retry fitting them the disc may be slightly scued. If no go try diffrent brand of pad I had same prob with a diffrent car last week & diffrent brand pad was 2mm thiner. If can't exchange pads get piece of emery paper on flat surface & sand away top part of pad material in round motions both ways till they fit. :-)

My bike got crushed by the garage door: back linear tektro bent to side and wheel spokes broke, wheel looks bent. Is this a costly repair? Ladies wildwood. Thank-you.

What's the whole bike cost? Normally every part of the bike except the frame is replaceable economically - which is subjective.

Tektro brakes or equivalent - cheap; wheel - probably cheaper than a rebuild; labor - unknown.

If the frame or the brake bosses are bent - fuhgetaboudit. Take it to a Bike Shop for evaluation. They can just hang new wheels on it and see how straight everything else is.

@aol.com2001 ls lincoln cant compress piston to allow for new pads

On the front you go buy a large C-Clamp
& use one old pad against the caliper piston

On the rear you need a tool to turn the parking
brake in while pushing the piston in

On the back you need to open the bleeder valve
to make it easier

You should be flushing your brake fluid on ALL
your vehicles every 2 years

You don't put on new pads without machining or
replacing the rotors & you have to remove ALL
rust from caliper & pad abutments & sliding surfaces
and put anti-seize on contact & sliding points

I checked my clamp --it is a craftsman 4" from
Sears Hardware

On the back you get the small cube from the auto parts
store & choose the side with the two smallest pins
& file flats on the outside of them to fit the caliper
piston. Don't think they make an exact tool for the LS

Ratchet up parking brake in back when done & push pedal
a couple times after beelding with engine running & a helper
to seat pads

On the back the piston notch goes up or the pads won't
go down

Tried to replace the rear brake pads on a Malibu LS 2008. used a C-clamp but could not get the cylinder in enough for the new pads to go over the rotor. Saw a response for a 2006 malibu, does the cylinder...

On the face of the piston you will see two small holes. There is a tool that fits into them so you can screw the piston down into it's retracted position. you can't do that with clamp.

Good evening , I have an Supreme Hero Honda CBZ of 2002 model Its nice to ride with it & i am taking care a lots regarding the same. As of now i have to change the front disc pads of My bike ..So...

hi, i never done one of these before, but, PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE STARTING (VERY IMPORTANT)
i will try to help you. LEAVE THE BRAKE CALIPER PIPE (CONNECTED). SLACKEN the BRAKE CALIPER undo the BRAKE FILLER CAP and MAKE SURE THIS DO'S NOT GET ONTO THE PAINTWORK. (THIS WILL STRIP PAINTWORK INSTANTLY). (DO NOT SHAKE MOTORBIKE). NEED TO PROTECT WITH DENSE HEAVY TYPE CLOTH. the PADS of the caliper need to be carefully pushed back then take off the caliper. do not undo BRAKE FLUID PIPE. take out pads and OBSERVE IF ANY PAD CLIPS ARE CONNECTED. push the caliper piston back (if no room to fit pads). you may need to displace some BRAKE FLUID. if BRAKE FLUID SPLASHES ON TO THE PAINTWORK DO'NT RUB IT OFF the paint will come off. REPLACE BRAKE FLUID CAP as SOON AS you get the CALIPER OFF. when all wok DONE and all bolts are tight . this WILL NEED TO BE BLED (TAKE AIR OUT OF SYSTEM). and TEST the BRAKE BEFORE ROAD TESTING (VERY IMPORTANT). gerry

My new Brakes Tektro Novela are sqeaky and noisy. What can I do?

A lot of pads are unfortunately. They will become a little better after a few hours of riding as they do "bed-in" a bit but the longer wearing the brake pad is the noisier it will usually be.

How to replace rear brake pads on 2006 dodge sprinter 3500

replacing brake pads is pretty simple but because the results of not doing it correctly is pretty severe (can you say accident) I recomend you get a Haynes manual for your vehicle. Generally they can be purchased for approximately $20 at autozone. The basics for replacing brake pads (as opposed to brake shoes) is to losen the brake caliper so it can be moved up off the brake rotor. Then the old pads pop out. Next the brake caliper piston is pushed back into the caliper and the new pads fit in. Now the caliper is placed back over the brake rotor. Again, get the manual.

Replace brake pads on chev. colorado pick-up

90% of the time the sequence is identical.

Slacken wheelnuts.
Jack up and support on axle stand.
Remove roadwheel.

There should be two bolts holding the brake caliper on - usually on the inside.
Slacken both, but only remove the lower one.
The caliper should then be able to swing up pivoting on the top bolt.
You can remove this top bolt, but support the weight of the assembly with wire to the suspension spring - so as not to stress the brake hose.
Remove the brake pads, and clean the areas the pads seat on.

Push back the pistons. Some require a special tool, most make do with a wooden packer and suitable large lever - or G clamp.

Fit new pads. Pay particular attention to any fitting clips, springs, rods or pins that are needed.

With new pads in, swing down caliper into position. Fit new attatchment bolts or use a threadlock on fixings. & tighten.

Still with wheel off, depress brake pedal to activate brakes - & check for leaks and working.
With foot off brake, check hub turns with no problems.
Refit wheel and repeat for other side.

ALWAYS replace brakes in axle pairs.

Hope this helps.
