Question about HP Officejet Pro L7780 All-In-One InkJet Printer
When paper is loaded to fax, ADF registers that a document is loaded. I dial the fax number, it dials and attempts to fax. Everything sounds like it is working, but the pick assembly will not grab the document.
Open the top adf cover clean all rubber parts with medical spirit(iso propyl alcohol) let it dry .good luck

There should be a textured seperator pad, if that's worn out, replace it. Also check the ADF rollers should not be smooth. You may need to just replaced the ADF maintenance kit. It should include the roller assembly and seperator pad.

SOURCE: Will not grab documents
> unplug the power chord while the printer is turned on
> press and hold the # and 3 button on the printer at the same time and while holding it, insert the power chord.
> a semifull reset would be done
> after that try to fax.
thanks and regards

default ring is 5.
if need to change the ring, then you will be in maual answer mode.
better choice is to change the ring on the phone and the answer machine.

I put an elastic band around the black roller as it doesnt seem big enough and it works nearly every time now. Have done this with another L7780 Pro as well which fixed it completely on that one.
