Question about Brother HL-2040 Laser Printer

Paper JAM after replacing a NEW CARTRIDGE in BROTHER-HL2040 LASER

After replacing the Cartridge with NEW Toner, the printer start Jaming the paper Completely.
On starting the printer running for warming-up then when it start feeding the paper immediately stop with red-flash.

Can you help?

You will have to realign the printer. First make sure there is no paper bit that is stuck on the back of the printer. Clear all and also clean the roller with a soft cloth. If you still have the same problem you need to uninstall and reinstall the printer and then print a test page. This will 100 percent resolve the issue.

Will not feed paper


Unplug the printer and wait half an hour. You want the internals of the printer to cool down, otherwise they might burn you.
Open the top of the printer, and remove the toner cartridge, there will be visual instructions printed on the top of the cartridge on how to remove it. Take care to place this on paper towels, as toner can be shaken loose and will stain anything it lands on.
You should be able to see a paper jam under where the toner cartridge, reach in and remove this jam.
After you've removed the jam, replace the toner cartridge and try printing again.

The problem coming because there is some paper jam in side the printer. Remove the toner cartridge and look inside the printer for any paper jam.

Toner cartridge wiil not come out? paper is jammed brother 2030


You need to open the front door and grab the toner/drum unit and pull as hard as you need to. once the assy. comes out you press the blue button on the left side and the toner cartridge will separate from the drum unit. install the new toner or remove the paper jam as required. call if you need more info. 805-520-3003 steven

If your printer have no paper jam inside and paper tray has paper in it, then you need to replace toner cartridge.

Paper Jam lite is on ( no paper jam )


give this a try

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
  3. Also open the back cover of the printer if this model has one.
  4. Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
  5. If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it away from light/ sun light to avoid damaging it.
  6. If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
  7. If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper. Don't force anything, though. Do this step especially if the jam message comes up repeatedly without any obvious paper jam, there may be a small tear of paper inside.
  8. Ones the printer is free of paper Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
  9. If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
  10. see alternative if the problem is still not solved.



alternative :
Load a piece of thick paper, for example photo paper and press the resume button (may be diffrent button on diffrent models) a few times to the printer picks up the paper and puts it through the machine.

Paper light on...!!


Turn the printer off. Take out the toner drum and cartridge. Remove the toner cartridge by pressing on the blue lever on the left side. Check for paper. Replace the cartridge. At the rear of the toner drum is a blue slide lever on the right side for cleaning the corona wire. Move the lever back and forth, left and right, about 30 times. Reset lever to far right side with arrows lining up. Set the drum and cartridge aside. Remove the paper tray and look inside for a jammed sheet of paper. Flip the back lid down and check for paper. Snap the back lid up, replace the paper tray, and replace the drum and toner cartridge. Turn the printer on. Press the ready button 3 times quickly. It should print a specifications sheet. If it does, try printing from your computer. If this did not help, Brother tech support is 1-800-276-7746. Robi
