Question about Hunter 27185 Remote Control

1 Answer

Remote switch does not work

I hired an electrician to install the ceiling fan remote control. He told me it would cost one hour at $65.00. He was here for two hours and the controller still didn't work. It is being installed on your Hunter Fan. The dip switches matched and tried different combinations. How can I get reimbursed for the $130.00 dollars I was charged? Moreover, how can I get the thing to work?

SOURCE: No dip switch in Hunter 27157 remote control.

Those aren't transistors in the transmitter they are jumpers. Match the jumper settings with your dip switch settings in the receiver. You can move the jumpers in the transmitter using a small needle nose pliers. An open jumper in the transmitter equals an OFF setting on the dip switch in the receiver.

Good luck!

SOURCE: DIP Switches don't seem to matter

Maybe the receiver has also a dip switch setting.

Hi,
If you use no wireless remote commander, It is normally the fan has no transformer. It has only motor with same voltage with adjacent lamps. Anyway I suggest you to hire an electrician to fix your problem.

Ceiling fan runs very slow after being pushed to begin rotation

Sounds like you have a wiring problem. If the control switch is after market, make sure that all connections are correct. If you do not trust working with electricity, then find a friend or hire an electrician. If it is a swtich that came with the fan, it wouldn't hurt to check all connections are correct anyway before going further into the fan. Hunter is one of the top brands and very trusty, so i would imagine that it is in the wiring somewhere.

Fan with remote won't work with wall switch. I

I just recently purchased a hunter ceiling fan w/light and remote. Had it installed and wall switch would not work, only remote. I contacted Hunter company directly about this problem and I was told that they redesigned their fans with remotes so that only the remote works for turning off power to fan. The person who made that made that BRILLIANT change should be fired. So to those of you who own a newer hunter an product with a remote ne your wall switch will not work tat s te reason why.

Remote does not consistently work

You can include a push chain switch, if theres enough room in the ceiling fan housing. This is a job for a professional electrician or appliance serviceman who is willing to modify an appliance. It will need to be tested for intrinsic safety and the work should carry some sort of warranty since the pull chain modification (if made on the ceiling fan house) will likely void any warranty. Instead, I advise that the pull switch could be intalled elsewhere in the room. However, it still remains a job for a profession electrician who can install the pull switch in parallel with the existing switch.

This would however be able to control all three fans with just one pull switch if you wanted.
