Usually the top comes up in the front allowing you to get to the inside of your unit.

Dryer won't heat up, breakers on

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician.

You have not provide any information such as your dryer model number. I do not know if you have a electric or gas dryer. The model number should be on the face of your dryer after you open the door.

So, I have to be general.

If you do not have a LG dryer this could be a easy fix. I recommend LG appliances to everyone I do not like.

1.) You may have poor air flow. Which means you have a plugged up air distribution manifold located in the back - easy removal.

2.) You may have a bad thermostat located in the back - $25.00 USD - easily replaced.

3.) You may have a bad thermo fuse located in the back - $25.00 - easily replaced.

4.) You may have a bad electric heating element - $65.00 USD

5.) You may have a bad gas igniter - $45.00 USD.

If I were to make a service call at your home you may be looking at $400.00 USD+.

Where is the humidity sensor on an lg gas dryer

With the drum out, facing the dryer, it's on the left side, mounted on the exhaust baffle, close the the high limit thermostat. It has one wire leading to it.

My LG 2050w dryer wont turn on after a loud pop noise. when i open the door the light does go on. Is it the mother board or the thermal fuse and where do i get a new replacement

Hello, welcome to FixYa.

Based on your post I'd suspect the belt has broken, come off it's pulley system or the kill switch is defective. These dryers have a "kill switch" by the motor that prevents the unit from starting if the belt breaks or comes off.

The service of LG dryers is mostly from the front, with some at top. As far as tear-down/repairing most LG dryers is essentially the same.

**insure the unit is unplugged from the first**

Now remove the top via taking out two screws at the back, slide it towards the back and inch or so and lift up, it will come off.
(you will be able to identify if the belt is off or broke before proceeding)

Next step is to remove the control panel. It will snap off the the top part, and some have a screw located on either side, i.e.

pull up or pry with a small screwdriver to release console clips from notches in metal support...

Pull the console towards you slightly (from front facing it) and reach in and disconnect the wire harness.

Set the console to the side ...

Now to remove the front panel...careful here the edges are sharp. Remove the screws at the top, and the two inside the door by the lint screen i.e.
Now the front panel will come forward enough to unplug the lamp...

Move the front panel to the side and you should be able to access and check the belt and switch. This is what to look for...

If the belt is off you can simply put it back on, obviously if it is broke you'll need to replace it.

Hope that helps get you fixed up, or moves you forward at least. Let me know what you find.

Good luck. Keep me posted.

Detergent dispenser stuck

Had the same problem here today, the softener dispenser blue plastic piece was loose jamming the whole dispenser tray, to resolve remove top cover, two screws on top rear, slide the cover towards the back, you will then see the detergent dispenser, press the right clips and pull it off slightly at the back; do not put too much pressure and try to remove the cover completely, just pry the plastic cover a bit then pull the detergent tray it should come right out.

Accessing heat element

You get into the unit from the top. Use a putty knife about 2 inches in from the right and left in the seam on the front of the unit and push in on the spring clip then lift on the top. After that take the front off and work your way down. The heating elements are on the bottom right when facing the front of the unit.

Dryer won't spin

step 1- remove the face of the dryer, then remove the cover for the fan, check to see if object is blocking the fan, if object is there , remove object, if not go to step 2

step 2- check to see if the belt is broken, if the belt is broken replace the belt.

step 3 - remove the belt from the motor and turn the dryer on, if the motor doesn’t turn then you need to replace the motor.
