Question about Dell Vostro V13 Laptop Computer (Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 320GB4GB) (bqmcg3121) PC Notebook
We have two vostro at home a V13 and a V1310. Both tend to freeze at start, specially V13 after entering windows, specially whenever I open a browser, Usually by clicking Cntrl + alt+ del it takes a while to go to the task admin page and then its just a matter of cancelling and continue using the machine. Sometimes, only a few, it was NO problem until the next session, but its a pain. (oh and i suggest everyone not to buy dell. just from the hdd cable issue which dell does not acknowledge as a mistake and has cost me some 200 eur here how to fix http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9k8ZaP0i4Ps). Any ideas? thanks!
Usually while installing programs, other programs are installed in the process, so try uninstalling some of them that you ate not using them. Furthermore try to find a driver for your graphics card and install it.

Go to the BIOS setup, & change the disk controller setting from AHCI to IDE. might worth the try. Some Laptops don't have option of SCSI or IDE. But there are SATA Enable/Disable option. Try disabling SATA.
You will be able to load XP but I suggest you to install Dell Vostro and SATA drivers. That you'll probably find it here:

the seller looks ok ...the things to look for is first to be new..no refurbished ,,second try to buy it not formated and do it yourself by charging it for about 12 hours ..and completely empty it for a few times...than see that for the same model of laptop can be more than one model of battery ..different on tha size and so with charge life time bigger or smaller....I will go for a midle size if available ...and use two of them ...to increse independence from the sourse..a much to big one might be inconvenient ...and of course one original is to be prefered on a copy or one that just fits...
the UK site is an excelent choice ...stay away from chinese stuff and cheap deals..

SOURCE: we tried all part replacements
What do you replacement for your Dell Vostro V13? Do you have reinstalled operating system? This is a software problem not hard wareproblem, Reinstall operating system maybe can solve it, and if the operating system can't be installed, it maybe comes a hardware problem

I hope it isn't the case but your laptop display may be going bad. I have seen this a few times before when I was working in a repair shop.
Things to test first:
Make sure video driver is the right one and up to date.
Install the latest Flash player
Install the latest Java updates
If you are ok with taking your screen apart (If not thats fine don't do it) check the cables in the back of it for burns or frays.
If all that fails best to take it a shop to have the display checked out.
