I have the radio code for my 98 Volvo V70 but not sure how to enter the code. Some people say press the tuner button, others say press P1 (don't know what that is), so what is the trick?

SOURCE: radio code 1998 volvo v70

your going to have to call up your local volvo dealer and give them your vin number and they can look it up for you. You can try using radio-code.com but i wouldnt recomend it. Your best bet is calling your local volvo dealer and they will help you out.

SOURCE: Volvo V70 xc AWD '98 - fuel filter change

Brandonlo168,

The fuel filter can be located under the carpeted cargo storage floor at the rear of the wagon. Remove the four 10mm bolts, remove the cover. You will then see a removeable plate to the right just behind the rear passenger seat. Fuel filter can be seen through hole in hole. Replaced from underneath wagon. Be sure to make sure lines are fully inserted onto filter. Check for leaks. No smoking, extinguisher handy. Note arrow on filter for correct fuel flow.

SOURCE: Volvo V70 and the stereo is locked

What an idiotic answer.  I would never let Technomad work on my Volvo.  Call the dealer and they will provide you with the correct code.  If they tell you to come down in person or try to charge you, then call another dealer.  It takes five minutes to look up the code.

To reset the code after being locked you must turn the key to the on position and leave it that way for about 2 hours (I can't rember the exact time but that's close) and the radio will reset and allow you to enter the code.  No kidding.  So if you can park it in your garage or otherwise keep an eye on it while doing that, then you don't have to worry about leaving the key in the ignition for that long.

SOURCE: radio code ( 98 Volvo S70)

Look in the manual for the code - usually someone has written it in there. If not, call the nearest Volvo dealership and give them the VIN - they can tell you what your code is. Then, with the engine off, turn the key to the "I" position (Roman numeral one) and leave it for at least 4 hours. The radio should then read "Code. and you can enter the 4 digit number! Good Luck!

My 2000 Volvo v70 xc's radio is not working. I

Your radio has been replaced, not uncommon for that year and the SC series of radios. The dealer will need to remove the radio (real easy to do) and has to get 2 numbers from the tag on top and query them through the Volvo DMS system. Note that if you enter the wrong code 3 times the radio will say OFF and you will have to leave the key in position 1 for up to 4 hours till the radio anti-theft resets and you can try again.

Need a code for radio on a 98 volvo v70

The only way this is possible if you contact a Volvo dealer and give them the ownership details of your vehicle. But this will only work if it is a factory fitted radio. If it is aftermarket you may have to contact the person or dealer you purchased it from for the code.
Check your owners manual it may have the code in there..hope this helps, let me know how you get on.

I have a 1998 V70 Volvo and need to reset the radio code

Your radio may have been replaced at one point (assuming that the dealer gave you the code based on your VIN).  Remove the stereo.  There are two skinny brackets on the lower outside edge of the stereo.  You push them in and they will pop out.  You use those brackets to pull out your radio (sometimes it takes a lot of pulling).  On the radio there will be a serial number on a white sticker.  Give that # to the dealer and they can get you the correct code.

Problems with radio code

Your radio is now in "off" mode. To get it back to "code" mode you need to have power to the radio for 2 hours. This can be accomplished by either driving the car for 2 hours, or putting the key into position 1 on the ignition, but make sure to turn off the fan as it will drain the battery in 2 hours. Once you have "code" back you can enter the 4 digit radio code. Caution, many of these radios have been replaced so the code that the dealer gives you may be wrong. If entered and it comes back "EEEEEE" that means it is the wrong code. The radio must be pulled and get the factory serial number from the top of the unit.

Hope this helps!

Same problem with Volvo radio

Your info is correct about what to do when it reads "OFF". As far as I know, you need to go to a dealer to get the code. They access it through their computer system with the VIN and the radio serial #.
