You can use a thermometer to check the temperature but if you are not able to set the temperature to a lower point it can be related to a faulty thermocouple. Remove the wiring to the element and the sensor and check or replace. click on : element

Rover 25 1.4 2004 hot engine and radiator fan problem

Yes, it is possible to install a thermostat backwards, though unlikely. If the thermostat isn't opening properly, the hot engine coolant won't be flowing over the cooling fan switch and give you high temps. I would first determine if the thermostat was opening at all, and if it is, is it opening at the proper temp. I have had many new thermostats that, while new, didn't work correctly. To check the cooling fan motor, turn on the AC(if equipped) and the fan should engage. If no AC, disconnect the cooling fan switch, and the fan should engage. Check for power and ground at the fan motor. If you have both power and ground, the fan motor is faulty

I have recently replace my salt cell after 6 yrs and now I'm getting a "high salt amps reading". The pool is 20,000 gallons and I installed a T-15-Cell. My salt level says 3900ppm but my...

I would first clean the cell according to the manual. If a small amount of conductive material in across the cell plates cleaning may remove it. Then I would use an independent method of testing the salinity. This could be bringing a sample to a pool supply store. I would use this value to determine whether to add or remove salt. One thing that can affect the equipment's indication of "high salt amps reading" is temperature. Many pool owners are having this indication with very high summer temperatures. Using a lower salinity with high temperatures could help. The main thing is to keep the chlorine concentration to between 2 and 4 ppm.so your pool remains sanitary. Make sure the stabilizer level is correct and circulation is good. I hope this helps.

Humidifier fan runs but does not remove water. I don't think the compressor is turning on.

There are 5 basic, yet solvable reason for what you described. Please pay particular attention to numbers 1 & 2.

1. The humidity extraction level is set to HIGH. Lower it to 32-35%. If you have an analog unit
(no LED screen), set the humidity extraction knob to Maximum.

2. Air intake filter is dirty or clogged. Turn unit OFF, & Unplug the
Unit, before removing to inspect & clean it, if necessary. If washed,
allow filter to completely dry before reinstalling. DO NOT operate
the unit without the filter.

3. Obstructed air flow. Maintain a minimum of 12 to 18" of clear air
space around the entire unit.

4. Cooling coils are dirty and need to be cleaned. Use warm water & dish washing liquid to
clean the coils. Rinse and wipe dry. Apply a light coating of WD40 to the coils.

5. Ambient air temperature at floor level is between 40 - 60 degrees.
dehumidifiers do not work well between those temperatures
(Unless, you have a Low Temp Unit). This applies mainly to
where the air temperature at floor level is colder than at shoulder level
in basement applications. Raising the unit up off the floor,
onto a sturdy table, counter top, etc, that can handle the weight
of the unit, plus a full tank of water, will usually resolve this
problem.

If none of the above solves the problem, it may be a case of the compressor needs to be recharged with refrigerant gas or that the humidity condenser sensor has failed. These things usually occur in units that are 5 years old or older. It's rare in a unit younger than that. But, it can happen.

I hope I was able to help you troubleshoot and solve the problem. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Kenwood KDW 243A Dishwasher has an E3 fault and will not wash the dishes, can you tell me what is causing this please? Thank you

The error (E3) relates to the water heating but not reaching the required temperature. This can be due to a couple of things generally. The sensor which detects the water temperature can be faulty or the heater element itself is faulty and not heating the water to a high enough temperature. I think it's needing to be replaced.

Check to see if there is a thermostat screwed up into the underside of the tub on the rear right side. If there is, test the thermostat to see if it's open circuit, if it is you'll need to change it.

I have West ponte Mdf 65 Ae BA8 dehumidifier 1 year old. Filter is clean. It worked last summer but now after the winter it is running fine but no water is comming in the bucket eventhough basement is...

You may have the humidity/moisture level set to high. Try lowering it to 35%. Or if you don't have a LED Screen on your unit, turn it to maximum.

In addition, most dehumidifiers don't work well if the air temperature is between 40 & 60 degrees F. Keep in mind, the temperature at floor level in a basement is colder that the air temperature at chest high level. Raising the unit up, off the floor on something sturdy enough to handle the weight (with a full tank of water) and the vibration, may help.

Hope this helps you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.
