Question about Whirlpool Cabrio 7.0 Cu. Ft. Super Capacity Plus Electric Dryer

Open Question

Something is loose in the tub, when it spins it rattles around until the speed get constant then it stops and as the speed changes it dislodges again rattles around a few times and stops once the speed get constant again. as the spin cycles slows down it dislodges again and ratttles around some more and stops. HI have removed the inner tub nothing visible I'm wondering if something is in the top ring of the inner tub which has water or some fluid in it I can't see how water gets in or out of the ring. I wonder if it's installed at the factory for balance. Maybe a peice of plastic has broken loose inside it. It's a whirlpool cabrio washer. John C

SOURCE: Washer does not spin

I had the same problem in october- my had a bad wiring harness, some board problem, and a bad sensor. if it hadn't been under warranty the cost of parts alone would have been over 1000bucks.

It is possible that the dispenser is leaking. It is typically the left front dispenser, you may notice a puddle on the left side. ???

SOURCE: Whirlpool Cabrio WTW6600SW1: Won't drain

The washer drew half a tub of water on the "Bulky items" cycle, and stopped. All the lights on the cycle dial light up and flash, the machine beeps and the me error message in the "estimated time remaining" field is "Ld". I've tried to shut the machine down and change the cycle to "drain and spin" but it will not agitate, won't drain or spin.

remove the lint filter, youll see 2 screws, remove the screws and with a small putty knife you cant pop the top using the clips approx 6inches in form both sides where the top meets the front panel, the top will then lift back giving you acess to replace the switch part number (3406107), very common incident

Top refrigerator rattling inside the refrigerator when first starts to run then stops rattling

There is something loose, when first starting the compressor because of its initial load vibrates shakes etc then settles down as the system stabilizes. Move things around inside and see if this helps. If not remove everything and try again, if the rattle is still there it is part of the cabinet, if not it was something inside.

On spin cycle sounds like change or rocks spinning around in drum.

Could be a bad bearing or something loose on the drum that doesn't rattle until you get up to spin speed. Look for something like pins, nails or screws stuck in the holes of the drum, or possibly under the protuberances (fins) inside the drum. Does the sound occur all through the spin cycle or only at top speed?

Shakes like crazy spin

Your maytag washer tub and basket assembly sits on a base counter balanced by 6 springs. Is is possible to move the tub around by hand. The best test is to start a spin with the unit empty of cloths, allow the tub to reach speed for a few seconds, lift the lid and check the tub position after it stops, if the tub is off center with the lid opening, re center the tub and run spin again. If your tub returns to an off center stopped position you most likely will need the base kit replaced. The base kit replaces the entire bottom of the unit along with new springs, and snubber, if so packaged per your application. Maytag experienced a defective stamping dye when these bases were stamped, thus they were stamped crooked. This test is performed with the machine it's self relatively level on the floor. If the tub assy leans and favors any one direction while you are trying to center it with the lid open, you may have a rusted or broken counter spring in side the unit. Pleazer Appliance...

Kenmore elite oasis he has a rattle inside when starts to spin and when it slows down. sounds like loose change but i cant see how the money could get between the inner walls. unit is 2 years old.

Overfilling loads can cause small objects like pins, coins, and small socks to get between the tub abd Basket of your washer.

The basket is held onto the rear half of the outer tub simply by the bolt to the main pulley.
Remove the bolt, remove the pulley, and the basket shaft should slip right out of the bearings of
the rear tub.

Simply shining a light around between the basket and outer tub should confirm that there is something in there, since you have access to do this with
the front tub removed. Go ahead, remove the pulley and bolt, and if
the basket comes out, then check everything out.

If it doesn't, don't try pounding it out; stop there and go to plan B, which is a new basket
and tub assembly.

Spin cycle makes washer rattle too much

Open the door and then reach inside the washer and grab the front of the inner tub with your finger tips. Can you wiggle the inner tub inside the outer tub? If so, your spider shaft supporting the inner tub is cracked and needs replaced. It is quit a job for the average handyman. Most often the professionals mustr be brought in for this repair.

Noisy clothes washer

I am thinking there may be an object caught between the inner and outer tubs...perhaps something came out of a pants pocket and was "flung" overboard into the outer tub. If you remove the top, and push the inner tub (moving tub) to one side, look with a flashlight for a foreign object. the noise will be fine until high speed kicks in and begins to disturb the sleeping object into a frenzy.
