Question about Whirlpool Duet GHW9150P Front Load Washer

Want to know the proper length of the drain hose from washer to drain. I can shorten it to about 6" if need be

You cannot shorten it to 6 inches. The pipe must go up from the bottom exit up to nearly the height of the washer then down anywhere to drain pipe in wall or washbasin. But the drain hose must go first up and then down - important.
