My CameraMate Real Time Video won't work with Windows Vista. Any idea where I can download a driver. Here's the error I get:
USB Video Device does not support Windows Vista
This problem was caused by a compatibility issue between Windows Vista and USB Video Device.
Zoran Corporation, the company that manufactured USB Video Device, has informed Microsoft that they do not expect to offer updates to fix this problem.
Recommendation: To search for similar devices that are compatible with this version of Windows, visit the Windows Vista Hardware Compatibility List website online.
I got my CameraMate software to install with Vista but it was a pain in the, well, you know. The install would not clear screens, so I had to manually close screens to get to the prompts hidden underneath to procede. Eventually, it got in there.
Video capture looked good, but no sound. So I thought I'd just route sound to my built in audio. Ok, still nothing. But fiddling with things got it to work, only with an echo. PITA!!
Also, the CamerMate sound DID appear in sound menu. If I enabled it, instant blue screen crash. I didn't think that was possible with Vista. Oh well.
I'm going to rip out the drivers and trash the device. It worked fine under Win2K, except for the speed test on some machines. When I can get a Sabrent PCI capture board for $17, or a full-featured Hauppauge board for $60, why mess with this, when the company won't support it?
