What is the sugar is good for type 2 diabities and ready level.

Well, no sugar is really GOOD for diabetes. With sweeteners the general wisdom seems to be that Stevia sweetener is the safest.

However you see, with Diabetes 2 it isn't the suger only you have to watch it is your carbohydrate intake, since carbs are converted in your body to glucose, at different rates.

Many foods are quite high in carbs and these need to be minimised if you have D2. They will have a high Glycemic Index (GI) rating, so you look for low GI index foods.

Some foods haven't been rated when you buy them, so check out the sugar content and the carb content on the Net. You will find wide variations in say, breads.

You may want to get a blood glucose test kit (fingerprick) to see how you are going. The doctor will want you to have a HbA1c blood test which is a sort of 3-month average reading.

The other best thing you can do is lose a lot of weight if you aren't already thin, and exercise, say 30 min 4 times a week.

I'd urge you to avoid quack remedies and naturopathy etc. Diabetes is incurable, progressive and can have awful consequences if not well managed.

Am I a doctor? No, I have diabetes 2 myself, and I am giving you all the info I got. Good luck.

What are low glycemic index foods

This index indicates the relative effect of a food on the body's blood sugar level. Pure glucose has a GI of 100.

A low GI food is one with an index of less than 55, and will have less effect on blood sugar level rise, so is better for diabetics.

GI is not an indicator of speed of blood sugar rise after eating, but generally speaking low GI foods will also release glucose to the blood more slowly.

I love eating apples and bananas. I just started a low calorie diet and am wondering if I could still eat these two fruits. Can I include them in my diet?

Apples and bananas are low caloric fruits, so there's no problem incorporating them into your diet. Both apples and bananas contain about 100-120 calories per piece. If you want, you can eat small apples and bananas which contain less than 100 calories. Also, apples and bananas contain a large amount of fiber, which makes you feel full, therefore making the diet easier.
