I use my MD5000 to print simple logos on decal paper. It prints OK in black or white, but any color printing is incomplete. It's as if the color(s) have ran out, but it prints the same specific incomplete...


Replace the cartridge if it has the printhead attached or if not take a straw and puddle the cap where the printer parks the head and turn it off let it soak 1/2 a day then turn on & off 2 or 3 times

The print head is not designed to be moved manually and damage may occur if you try to do so forcefully.
To center the print head to replace ink tanks and to replace/remove print head you should do the following:
1. Make sure power is turned on and open the Paper Output Tray gently. 2. Lift the scanning unit (cover) until it stops. Lift with document cover closed. The print head holder should move to the replacement position (center).
Do not force print head holder to move nor touch it while it's moving. These parts are very delicate and generally are made mostly of plastic.
IMPORTANT If the Scanning Unit (Cover) is left open for more than 10 minutes, the Print Head Holder moves to the right. In this case, close and reopen the Scanning Unit (Cover).

Black printing is incomplete. faint, blurry, ghosts, erratic


More than likely your printhead is failing. This is a common problem with the i70/i80, i90/iP90v and i100. The printhead is easy to replace. Open the cover, let the carriage center, powerlift printhead frame lever and lift out printhead. You can test and/or clean the jets in the maintenance tab in the print driver.

Problem with Printhead


I have the same printer with the same exact problem. Even the same color being affected. Unfortunatly no solution. It sounds like we have to replace the very expensive printhead.

New ink not working three different times buying it and taking back ink very light or none at all no red it shows up yellow?


Have you done the cleaning the printhead? if not please run your clean printhead, if your using 5100 printer you can only do clean printhead by launching your home center, just click the help icon(?) under that click maintenance for you to able to see clean printhead

Now if you already done with this torubleshooting and still you haved incomplete color or incorrect colors printouts it means you printhead is defective., YOu need to call kodak tech support for printhead replacement i think its free of charged 1 800 421 6699 ext 05 toll free

Incomplete printing


goto the maintenace section of your printer and then print maintenace page..or clean printhead option.
or
maybe your black ink cartridge is now low..replace it with a new one..if the problem still exist ..wipe the cartridge on a wet cloth in order to clean the clogs.that cover the nozzles..
