No actually it is better to paddle board on less choppy water and flat water is preferred when beginning to practice your skills.

Is there such a thing as beach toys for adults?

Sure - even adults are entitled to have some fun on the beach. Take a look at boogie boards, inflatables, paddle boards and there are also loads of ball games, with and without rackets on sale.

Can you use a paddle board in a river?

Yes. Paddle boats can be sued on any body of water as long as it is safe to do so. Always wear a personal floating device when paddle boating for added safety.

Where is the best place to stand on a paddle board?

When paddle boarding, you should stand in the middle of the board. The nose end (front) should not be sticking out of the water and the tail should not be digging into the water.

Can I remove my fins on my paddle board?

The fins can be easily removed to transporting the paddle board, however they are used for navigation of the water so you should not try to paddle board without the fins attached.

Do I need to wax the top of the paddleboard?

Most paddle boards are made with traction pads attached to the top of the board, these should never be waxed. Boards that do not have the traction pads should be lightly covered with a base wax.

How should I choose the size of my paddle board?

Paddle boards come in three sizes 10ft, 11ft and 12ft, the size is determined by the weight of the person and how many paddles there will be as well as how far the paddler wants to glide between paddles. Normally a person weighing less than 160lbs will choose the 10ft board and someone weighing over 160lbs would take the 11ft. If the paddler is heaver let's say 300lbs or they want to have more than one paddler they would take the 12ft board.

Is it better to have a board with attached fins or ones that I can remove?

That depends on two factors. You have to determine if you want a different type of board for each different type of wave so that you can cater the board to the wave. Also, if you are travelling a lot to different surf destinations, I suggest getter a board with removable fins because it is less likely to get damages under the plane and you can store the extra fins in your luggage.

Which type of board should I get if I am just starting surfing?

I recommend renting instead of buying if you are just starting out. Surfboards can be expensive and you want to make sure that you are into the sport before you invest all that money. As a beginner, you should use a long board. This is because they are very buoyant, allow for very easy paddling and wave catching and they are generally easier to maneuver on the water. The only issue is that they are tough to maneuver on land because they are a full eight and a half feet long. The best boards for beginners are wide, thick and light.

I have a small crack in the top of my paddle boat that takes on water when the kids are playing or when the wind kicks up and waves roll over the top. Can I make a fiberglass repair or is there another...

I used ABS, PVC combination plumbers glue, the kind they use to put plastic waste pipe together, to patch up 2 small holes in my plastic pelican boat. It seems to melt on, so far so good
