Place the spike key over the top of the spike, ensuring that you secure it around the base. Hold the shoe firmly and slowly turn the key to the left to loosen and remove the spike. One you get the spike turning, it should come out easily.

Can changing from running shoes to running shoes with track spikes damage my legs or feet?

Changing from running in regular workout shoes to track spikes can cause Achilles tendon problems. Your Achilles tendon, sometimes called the calcaneal tendon, connects your calf muscles to your heel bone. A slow onset of pain that increases with exertion is likely to be tendonitis, whereas a sudden pain may be a partial or complete Achilles' tendon rupture. Achilles' tendons injuries are slow to heel and, in the case of ruptures, can even require surgery.

Can I use my track spikes to train on hard surfaces such as cement?

It is not advised to use your track spikes on hard surfaces for a number of reasons, firstly it will ruin them, a hard surface will wear down the spikes, secondly the spikes do not support the foot so it could cause problems with the foot area also the spikes would not penetrate the surface which could make it very slippery - do not use your track spikes on a hard surface.

What can I do with my old running shoes?

You can donate them; Nike Reuse-A-Shoe program (www.nikereuseashoe.com) accepts donations of all athletic shoes that don't contain metal. The shoes are converted into athletic surfaces (running tracks, soccer fields, basketball courts) that are sent to underserved communities around the world. And One World Running (oneworld)
running.com; previously Shoes for Africa) will send your new or gently used shoes to athletes and children in Africa, Mexico, and South and Central America.

Removing old spikes from tour 360 3.0 golf shoes

I just did this today... I used a 5/32 drill bit and SLOWLY drilled a hole in each of the spikes where you put the spike wrench just to allow the wrench to penetrate deeper (basically I cleaned out all the built up dirt).
