Shutter Stepping is related to any event where foot placement needs to be exact: shortened steps leading up to a hurdle or on a runway event where the final step initiates the jump, vault or throw.

Can i change shutter speed on my camera?

Not much. The D-540 is designed as a point-and-shoot camera, which means you're supposed to just point and shoot, without bothering about such minor details as the shutter speed and the aperture.

You have some control. For example, the Portrait mode will attempt to use a wide aperture to reduce the depth of field, which will result in a faster shutter speed, while the Landscape mode will attempt to use a smaller aperture to increase the depth of field, which will result in a slower shutter speed.

More sophisticated (and heavier, and more expensive) cameras will give you more control, but this is about all you're going to get with most point-and-shoot cameras.

What is an early apex?

The term early apex describes the location of both the functional apex in relation to the true apex and the act of turning for the functional apex. For example, nearly all corners in racing are late apex corners, while inexperienced drivers on a race track will typically "early apex" most corners by turning in far too early.

When placing Starting blocks on a running track, how far from the starter line should they be?

You should set the starter block so that it is about 2 or your own foot lengths away from the start line. This is so that you are not in-front of the start line before the race has started.

There are 25 horses and 5 tracks in how many times the race was conducted among 25 horses by arranging them in 5 tracks to find the best horse among 25 horses

Run 5 races, with 5 horses per race.
Thus, all 25 horses have competed exactly once.

Pick the winner from each of the 5 race,
and run one more race, namely a 6th race, with those 5 horses.

The winner is the fastest horse of all 25 horses.

Tire question

Bluing means the tires were properly brought up to temperature and run. Being street tires, they should be okay for a while but since you had track days, you may have shortened their lives considerably. Did you use tire warmers? Also, Michelins are great and progressive when new, but when they get old, they are not predictable at the limit. They'll grip and then let go without the same level of feedback you'll get from Dunlops or Bridgestones, in my experience. YMMV. I race on Michelin Power Races now but still prefer Dunlops for better feedback.

Aperture

Hello,

On digital cameras you set the camera to Aperture priority and then use your spin dial to set the lowest aperture possible and let the camera set the shutter speed.

In basic terms, the lower the aperture number the shorter depth of the vision field that will be in focus. This is called Depth of Field.

If your camera doesn't have an Aperture priority, usually a capital A on the program dial, you are a bit out of luck... that said, almost all cameras today have this feature. Yours may also be accessed by setting the program dial to Closeup or Portrait mode where the camera will use a short Depth of Field to blur out the background.

Hope that helped of fixed your dilemma.
