SOURCE: Refresh rate at 60 Hz?

http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber/popup/pop_troubleshooting.jsp?ia_cd=02010100&model_name=LN52A630M1F

According to the Samsung website, the on-screen information is in relation to the incoming signal, not the TV settings which are being displayed.

As long as you have the 120 Hz turned on, the TV will display the picture at that refresh rate. However, the on-screen information will not reflect that.

Very ood.

SOURCE: I AM PLANNING TO BUY A 26 IN. HISENSE LCD HDTV

All LCD and Plama tvs brands are very simular, but the well known brands have more refurbishes electronic's boards out there to buy for the people who do it ur selfer repair for their tvs sets. The contrast and refresher rates is not standard.Must read the tv owner manual in each tv brand to find out.The most common in all LCD and Plama tvs problems are dead or dying capacitors in the power supply boards and it supporting boards. The CRT analog tvs it a Tube design in the past it hold heat better, that why doesn't kills capacitors as fast as today LCD or Pasma screen tvs.

SOURCE: I am not one hundred

Hi!
Can you tell me what kind of tv you are using(brand and model) Is it lcd or crt?

Using a TV monitor as display monitor of any computer may need some drivers.
Seeing diagonal lines may only means that the resolution of tv monitor does not meet the required resolution of your computer. It is not the refresh rate that needs changing but the resolutions.

I do suggest that you use first its original monitor. Then set the resolution to its lowest level.
Then try hooking up the tv monitor. See if the display becomes normal.

SOURCE: Is a 50hz refresh rate

That frequency signals how many times the screen pixels are activated / refreshed - theoretically they could be set to a different level each time which would eliminate all blurriness. So faster is always better but you must take into consideration the quality of the screen itself - some of them (the lower quality ones) have a higher retency : the pixels stay lit longer after they were turned off - and the power of the image processor - in lower series it's not powerful enough to generate a new image for each refresh: the refresh is done on the pixels only, the image (with all its problems) will still be the same.
So yes, a 600 Hz plasma will look much better, but only if it's a top end model. For every other case a LED tv is to be preferred from a cost/performance point of view.
