Avaya IP Office Auto-answer problem

I am trying to enable auto-answer mode. i have enabled button with Hfans key and using this key i am getting calls automatically in headset mode with a alert beep , but in my avaya system we have 2 different trunks SIP / PRI, what ever calls generating from internal or from PRI , calls automatically landing with beep , but calls from SIP are automatically landing without beep. Hope my query is understandable. ============

If your IP Office is Rel 4.2 or higher, You can purchase a license that will allow you to load a vpn script into the phone. Once you set up your VPN router at corporate, the phone gets plugged into any open internet connection and syncs up with the VPN router and makes a tunnel which then will connect with the phone system giving you a remote IP phone extension of that system.

For the PC, just load client software on it, and it works the same.

Since the tunnel is directly from the device (phone or PC), your home network will not be apart of the office network.

Answer to the second problem :-

1. The changes in the ring tone has to be made by accessing the Avaya server where the phones are registered.
2. Log in to the avaya server...... enter change station <station number> on the command prompt
3. In the personalized ring pattern field, you can select one out of the 8 available options by typing any digit between from 1 to 8.

4. The ring pattern of that particular station will change accordingly.

5. Keep the personalized ring pattern of all the stations different by assigning different digits against this value

Avaya phone 5410 how can I manually change time


The IPO should get its time from the VM Pro server. The time server should be
set to the IP address if the VM Pro pc. If there isnt a vmpro pc, you can set
it manually.

For IP Office systems without access to a time server, a number of methods to
manually set the system time exist. These are available in the IP Office 4.1+.
The following method is only supported on these phones: 2410, 2420, 4412, 4424,
4612, 4624, 4610, 4620, 4621, 5410, 5420, 5610, 5620, 5621, 6412, 6424. It is
supported on any analog, T3, T3 IP or wireless (IP DECT, 3600, 3700 Series)
phones.



Note: If the IP Office system that is still configured for automatic time
updates (on by default), any manually set time and date will be overridden on
the next automatic update. The use of automatic updates can be disabled by
setting the System ' System ' Time Server IP Address to 0.0.0.1.

Enabling a User Button for Time and Date

Select the user who can adjust the system time and date.
If necessary create a new user who can be used to log in and set the
time and date before logging out.
On the User ' Telephony tab, ensure that the option System Phone is
selected.
On the User ' Button Programming tab select and double-click on an available
button.
Select Emulation > Self-Administer as the action.
In the Action Data field enter 2.
Enter an appropriate label for the button.
Adding another button set to the Emulation > Time of Day action is
recommended as this will allow the user to view and confirm the systems current
time.
In the User tab, Change System Phone Rights to "Level2"
Send the updated configuration to the IP Office.

Using the Programmable Button

Press the programmed button. If the user has a Login Code enter it as
requested, and press Done
The options Date and Time are displayed.
To set the date press Date.
The current system date is displayed.
Enter the new date, using two digits for day and month. Use the * or #
keys to insert the / separators. The format for date enter matches the locale of
the IP Office system.
During entry the key labeled <<< can be used to backspace.
When the full date has been entered as required, press Next.
Press Done.
The phone will return to idle.
To set the time press Time.
The current system time is displayed.
Enter the new time using 24-hour clock format. Use the * or # keys to
insert the : separator.
When the full time has been entered as required, press Done.
The phone will return to idle.

At Two scenarios it will be happening.
1. When your phones act as a intercom.
2. When your server settings are enabled with auto-answer option.

We have a panasonic kx-fm 131 . when i leave the office itdoes not take automatic fax


Panasonic KX-FM131 has Auto answer button at the top control pannel, which enables/ disables FAX auto Answer

I have avaya model# 9630G, it keeps going straight to voicemail after the first ring.


do a status station <ext> and check if send all calls is enabled on the first page. If enabled then disable using the button on the phone or use a feature access code to disable it

The call gets answered automatically on speaker rather than ringing.


You must have accidently hit the HFAns button on. If on your digital display you see a down arrown button on top of HFAns press the gray button on the bottom of HFAns. This will disable the handsfree option. Hope this solves your problem.

the conference is not configured in the cms it is configured in the asa or cm and cms is just for reporting not for configuring any other ip telephony configurations.

You need to ask your local system administrator to enable this feature on phone switch. Looks like you are working with IP Office

Auto answer


If you are an administrator, you can make the change in the second page of the station "auto-answer=none". Otherwise, if you are user and there in in your menu list the feature int-auto-ans, you can press the specific button.
