How to wear a wrist strap when playing racquetball

Racquetball can be a very competitive and dangerous sport due to the close proximity between players. Regulations in the USA require that all players wear a strap to keep their racket from slipping and hitting themselves or other players. You would be amazed how many injuries are caused by slipped rackets and there is nothing more embarrassing than hitting yourself.

To put the racket ******** properly, place your dominant hand (if you are a righty the right hand) through the wrist strap that is attached to your racket. Using your other hand, take the racket rotate it in a clockwise motion, this will make the opening where your wrist goes through smaller making it less likely that your hand will come out of the strap.

Put the racket into your dominant hand and grip it so that the "V" formed by your thumb and forefinger should be aligned with the center of the racket's grip. Slide down the racket until the bottom of the racket is resting in the palm of your hand and your pinky is no longer holding the racket. When you get to this position you are ready to start playing.

It is important that you get a strap that is smaller but not too tight, a smaller strap will help to give you a wider range of motion and will give you the ability to hit the ball harder with more accurately.

What kind of cross-training will help my fencing?
