I've read studies show that mosquitoes are actually attracted to darker clothes, and less likely to be attracted to brightly colored clothing, especially yellow.
-The smell of wild leeks repel mosquitoes.
-An old instructor of mine in the U.S. Special Forces once told me eating a couple match heads putting sulfur in your blood stream deters insects of all kinds.
-The same instructor said he had also heard putting a dryer sheet or two in your back pocket works as well. Though I've never tested it myself.
-Burning Sage and rosemary smoke turns mosquitoes off so burn this herbal combination over coals. Marigolds, chrysanthemums, asters, and pyrethrum daisies all repel insects. As well as juniper brush.
Good luck!

Which insect repellent is the best against mosquitoes' bites?

I personally find the Autan very satisfying. This brand provides several kinds of products in different forms, like long lasting protection sprays, pumps and wipes, after-bite gels and creams, baby sprays and sticks, aftersun lotions etc. And they are all particularly gentle on the skin, especially the Family Care.
Here is their website:

Is there a head mosquito net?

Yes there is. The head mosquito net is Ideal for those who prefer not to use repellents on their face. This head-net is light and airy, easy to see through and highly breathable. More comfortable to wear than many others I've tried.

Does wearing clothes treated with insect repellency really help?

Cloth treated with insect repellency offers a long lasting protection against mosquitos and unlike the traditional repellent, the repellency is near your skin not on it which alleviate concerns about skin diseases caused by long term use of the traditional insect repellent.

Does an insect repellent is an alternative for mosquito net?

Insect repellent is not an advised solution in these cases. It's less effective and much more expensive than a mosquito net and can also cause health risks with long term use.

Why do mosquito's like O blood more than the other types of blood then like AB B or A blood types then?

I also have type - O blood, and have not noticed this trend (I actually get bitten less than most). I think it is more likely that there is some pheromone in the sweat of the person you speak of (you or your friend with type-O blood who gets bitten more often) that is attractive to the bugs. If mosquito sprays, Tiki Torches and citronella candles are not working, try one of the new "Off Clip On" mosquito repellants ... that might help you out.

Why do mosquitos like O blood more than the other types of blood then?

Mosquitoes are attracted not only by things like the CO2 that you exhale, but they are also attracted by the odor that are blood secretes through our skin. For some reason that scientists haven't figure out yet Type O blood secretes more chemical "odor" than any other blood type. The interesting thing about all of this is that our genetics will control whether or not we will secrete those "odorant markers" through our skin. For some reason people with Type O blood are genetically pre-disposed to secreting that odor through their skin. Some people genes stop them from putting out any type of odor from their blood at all. This of course doesn't mean that they will not get bitten at all. It just means that their blood "smell" will not help to attract the mosquitoes to them.

So if you are a Type O person, once the mosquito is attracted to you by your CO2, your blood odor will help to make you attractive enough that not only will the mosquito come to check you out, she will also probably land on you and bite you. Type O or not, the best defense against the mosquito is still either staying indoors, using mosquito nets, or using any repellant that contains DEET. This is still the single best repellant agent out there to use against the little blood suckers. As some people can be sensitive or allergic to DEET make sure that you try some of the repellant on a small patch of skin to see if you have any reaction to it before rubbing or spraying the repellant all over your body.
