Question about Sony VAIO CS VGN-CS220J/T Notebook
I cannot boot my Sony Vaio VGN-S460 Laptop. As my Cd/DVD Rom is not working. i had tried using Bootable USB but it wont show the Boot option. Can Somebody Please help me out.
If the BIOS does not have the USB as one of the boot options then you cannot boot up with an USB memory stick.
In this case you need to replace the CD/DVD drive with a new one.

SOURCE: Hello, I have Sony Vaio
It sounds like you have done your homework, I suggest checking out ebay for a replacement for your CD-ROM, new would be better, but if you want to save money you might be able to scoop up a good used one at a cheap price.
