Question about Brother Mfc-8220 Laser Multi-Function Center Fax, Copy, Print, Scan

I'd like to transform a Brother MFC 8220 from USA to AUS power

I have a Brother MFC 8220 that I've shipped with me from the US (110V/50Hz) to Australia (240V/60Hz) . Since the printer combo has no auto sensing power supply I'm wondering if I can I can swap out some of the internal PCBs with their corresponding Australian/European versions? According to the Service Manual it looks like there are two replacement parts (NCU PCB Circuit Board (Europe)) and High-Voltage Power Supply PCB Circuit Board (200 V) that can be replaced for the corresponding US boards. I would like to know if this is worth trying as the boards can be purchased for about $30 each. Probably cheaper to buy an auto transformer from 240 to 110 volts.

Look in the parts manual for "engine controller board." You can get replacement boards through at least some of the authorized service centers. I got a refurbished board from a good guy in St. Charles, Illinois (Tom). You can contact him by email. tomb@busauto-inc.com.

I'd shy away from buying a complete printer. No guarantee it has an updated board and then you'll be back to where you started.

I'm pretty sure the board dies from a firmware bug that's been dormant until recently. Not sure if the bug is triggered by reaching a certain page count, date, or something else, but if you notice, the reported problems all seem to be emerging within a few months of each other even though the printer was first released more than two years ago. Generally after the warranty expires.

Try this.....* 2 8 6 4 should go into maintenance mode. You might have to try it several times for it to take. Oh and please take a moment to give this solution a fixya rating or respond back if that didn't work and I'll see what else I can find. Thanks! :c)

you will have to check the voltage before purchase because the usa voltages are different from ours they use 110v 60hz we use 230v 50hz
you would have to by a transformer if it was 110v 60hz but some exported usa appliances are 220v and will be ok you will have to check before you buy i

The MFC 8220 is a Laser Printer. It uses Toner Cartridge. Product #TN540 or #TN570. It cannot use the regular ink cartridge.

I am tryn to download software to install brother mfc 8220 fax printer copier scanner pc fax machine. and having trouble getting right software and loaction for it. using windows xp

Assuming you're in the USA, go to brother-usa.com's download page. Select the Multi-function family, then your specific model in the box that appears, then your operating system. Agree to the software license, and you'll get a page of drivers & stuff. If you have a fast Internet connection, go for the complete package.
There may also be a program to uninstall the drivers. If you've been trying to connect & use the machine, start by unplugging it from the computer and run that uninstall program. Windows often tries to install an almost-good-enough driver, and the real Brother drivers don't play with that.
Then run the setup program for the driver package you downloaded. It will tell you when it's time to plug in the printer. A computer reboot may be required when it's done. The installation program will tell you.

I need to replace the ADF Document Support piece on my Brother MFC-8220 fax machine. Do you know where I can purchase one?

I finally located a phone numbe for the Brother-USA Sales Dept. (888-615-9119). The part was $4 plus shipping and handling ($10 total). It took a bit of doing for them to identify the part and determine the part number. I had to fax them a machine parts diagram from the MFC-8220 manual. Go figure.

Onkyo TX-SR804 power supply

If you imply an AC voltage transformer by saying "power supply", I don't believe it will be difficult to find one. If you stay in Istanbul, I recommend that you go to "Dogubank". You can choose from a wide variety of options at that place. All you have to pay attention is that the AC frequency (Hz) of the transformer you're about to purchase. It must be around 50Hz to operate your amp.
