Acer Aspire 4530-5889 malfunctions when I install sprint wireless

I purchased the laptop brought it home completed the set up and surfed the internet using a generic wi-fi connection. Afterwards I attempted to install my Sprint wireless broadband card ( Sierra Wireless Compass 597) at which point the computer locks up at the log-in screen. System recovery attempts were all unsuccessful in any mode, system repair was unsuccessful. I was finally able to restore the sytem to an earlier successful point but I still have this problem with not being able to install my wireless card. This is the second Acer this has happened to in two days, PLEASE HELP!

My acer aspire wont connect to my centurylink wifi

Try re-installing the wireless card driver and the configure the wireless card to the wireless router's wireless settings. You can also have a look at the wireless card settings in the computers that is connecting to the wireless router/Internet and then apply these settings to the wireless card in the Acer.

Can not connect to the internet

In order for you to use your built in wireless card on your Acer, you need to have a way to convert your internet connection in your home to a wireless LAN so your laptop can see it and connect to it. This is done with a wireless router. They are relatively inexpensive and simple to set up.

In order to connect at public wi fi areas such as those that are found at hotels and starbucks, then all you need to do is turn on your computer and make sure your wireless is turned on on your Acer. It should automatically alert you to any wireless signals it finds and you can connect that way.

If You Have A Restore Partition On The Laptop, You Can Use An F Key To Take You To Your Restore Partition... the key is usually F10, but on some laptops it differs... Try Other F Keys if F10 does not work... Its Not The Boot Menu Settings Screen and Its Not THe Bios Setup Utility Screen, Its A Separate Route To A Hidden Partition...
You Might Need An Operating System CDRom if You Cannot access the restore partition, Run CHKDSK from the repair utility , and possibly FIXBOOT/FIXMBR to repair your Boot Config Files.

Hi I,m thinking about buying an Acer Aspire just to surf the net etc, nothing fancy and have never hooked up laptop access at home...what do I need?? Im a woman who deals with computer problems all day at...

It all depends what you want for internet, wired, or wireless. I would say in your case, you would be better off with wireless internet. Also, i would recommend that you explore your options before purchasing a laptop, acer laptops are not very good in my opinion, they don't last long, and they are usually outdated by at least 6 months. You may want to check out tigerdirect.com, newegg.com, or frys.com, those are all great sites for purchasing computers, and computer accessories. But on to the original question, i'm going to assume you want wireless internet. You will have to make sure the laptop you purchase has wifi/wireless built in. The website you are purchasing the laptop from, or the representative in the store you're purchasing it from should be able to tell you whether or not it has wifi. Next you will need a wireless router, you want a router with wireless g functionality, they cost from $30 - $75 and will serve your purposes perfectly. The router should come with setup instructions, usually they're pretty user friendly. That is all you need for a wireless home network, unless you have desktop computers that you would like to have wireless, then you would have to get a wireless card for each one.

Wireless

Make sure your wireless card or adapter is properly installed and that the up to date drivers have been setup. I assume you are using a laptop so try visitig a friend or a internet cafe with a wireless signal, your laptopshould pick up the signal right away and allow you to surf, then you'll know if the home network is incorrectly configured. Good luck!
