Having no power when you're ready to vacuum isn't fun. You may want to have your vacuum inspected by a qualified technician at one of our Authorized Service Centers.

Here's a quick link to help you locate one in your area.

How do i fix the brushbar on my vacuum cleaner there are three switches - power switch , brushbar switch ,and reset switch ,the latter does'nt seem to click ,should i replace this one

make sure you're getting power to the brush bar switch. If so there is a micro switch that activates the brush bar when you pull the handle back into the vacuuming position. Make sure that micro switch (in the ball assembly) is getting power from the brush bar switch.

Can anyone please help, my Miele vacuum cleaner will not switch on anymore.

Most likely problem one of the wires leading to the switch. Ohm them out with a OHM function of a multimeter, while unpluuged , of course. .

Dyson dc30 switch suddenly not working properly

Sounds like the switch is bad. If it's not still under warranty I'd look up a replacement part.

Switch bad need to bypass switch

Monica, I highly recommend you replace the switch. By passing the safety of a switch on any appliance or tool endangers both yourself and those around you. Just to by pass the switch, you would need to disassemble the appliance. If you are going to do this then get a replacement part and replace it. :) Safety comes first , especially where mechanical and electrical devices are used.

Switch to turn on doesnt work

Hi,

Remove the switch and see if the switch is bad or if the motor has went bad...

If there is power through the switch then it is the motor...

If there is no power through the switch then the switch is bad...

My Dyson DC 14 is about 5 years old now and when I push the on/off switch it starts, but it won't stay on unless I hold down the on/off switch.

Sounds like you would have to get the on/off switch replaced. You could try one thing prior to trying to replace the switch or taking it in for repair. After 5 years of use there may be some dirt that got into the switch. Unplug the unit and spray some Contact Cleaner (available at Radio Shack) or some WD 40 into the switch area. Use a bit of it so it can work its way into the switch. Then, here comes the good part, turn the switch on and off for a few minutes. The action will somewhat clean the contacts of the switch IF the cleaner was able to get into the switch. If you try this and it does not work, the next step I would take would be to disassemble the unit and get at the switch to see if wires have come of and if they have not, check the continuity of the switch and last ditch fix, replace the switch. My Shop Vac 90L600A is getting electric thru the cord and into the switch, but it doesn't switch on when you toggle the switch from off to on. Is it a bad switch?

Check the othere end of the switch. You may have a brushes problem in the motor. You will have to check the switch while hot - be careful

I have an Easy-Flo central vac unit. The handle on the electric hose has a switch on the handle. With the switch on ''O'' in the center, it's off. On the left, is the ''I'' position. The vacuum runs but...

You can't get that apart. I repair the switches on these hoses a lot. The only way to fix it is to just get a new switch and replace it. You can get a replacement switch here:

The on/off switch won't click in either direction.

If this is the switch on the hose the switch can pop out the front for inspection. If it is the switch on the vac the rear housing of the vac needs to be removed to access the actual rocker switch underneath the switch pad. Both are inexpensive. If the vac is in good shape check the switch and replace if necessary.

Take the handle off, then remove the tool holder, then you can get to the switch. Just has tabs on each side of switch, depress them and push it out. These switches will do this after awhile, replacing them is usually the way to correct the problem.
